The “today” in the headline refers to October 21, 2025, when PakWheels reported that Nishat Group planned to unveil the SUV at 6 PM. The official Pakistan launch announcement followed on October 22, identifying the vehicle as the JAECOO J7 SHS PHEV. Its launch-era introductory price was PKR 9,999,000, but that is not a confirmed current offer.
When did Nishat launch the JAECOO J7 PHEV in Pakistan?
PakWheels’ October 21, 2025 launch-day preview said Nishat Group planned to unveil the JAECOO J7 in Pakistan at 6 PM that day. The official OMODA & JAECOO Pakistan announcement, dated October 22, said the vehicle had arrived with an introductory price. The “today” wording is historical, not an October 2026 launch announcement.
The official name used for the local plug-in hybrid model is JAECOO J7 SHS PHEV. SHS is part of the model branding; the vehicle is identified as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in the Pakistan launch material. OMODA & JAECOO Pakistan’s launch announcement and PakWheels’ October 21 preview document the launch timing.

How does the J7 fit Pakistan’s PHEV SUV market?
Dawn’s April 2026 coverage compared the Jaecoo J7 with the Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV, noting that they sit under separate brands within the Chery group. PakWheels’ launch-era preview named the Haval H6 PHEV and MG HS PHEV as competitors. It also mentioned the Forthing Friday as an alternative with range-extender electric-vehicle (REEV) architecture—not a PHEV. Those launch-era references do not establish a current price ranking or a like-for-like comparison of range, equipment or running costs.
