Official 2026 Mercedes S-Class pictures
Mercedes-Benz’s global press kit is the main official source for launch imagery. It lists 90 pictures, 11 videos, an overview document and 14 technical-data documents. Open the Mercedes-Benz press kit and picture gallery to browse the launch material.
The S-Class made its world premiere at the Mercedes-Benz Museum on 29 January 2026, according to Mercedes-Benz Media’s premiere report. The date is the global reveal date; it does not establish a UK delivery or ordering timetable.
What looks different in the pictures?
Mercedes-Benz’s launch material calls out three exterior details. These are manufacturer descriptions and figures, rather than independent measurements.

- Illuminated bonnet star: Mercedes-Benz says an illuminated star is available as an option for the first time.
- Larger illuminated grille: the company describes the grille as 20 per cent larger.
- New DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps: the next-generation twin-star units use micro-LED technology. Mercedes-Benz says their high-resolution illumination field is around 40 per cent larger.
These details can help when comparing the new pictures with images of the outgoing car, but the global launch material does not by itself confirm which features will be fitted to each UK version.
What Mercedes-Benz says has changed
Mercedes-Benz describes this as the most comprehensive update within a single S-Class generation to date. It says more than 50 per cent of the car—around 2,700 components—has been newly developed or re-engineered. That is the manufacturer’s characterisation of the scale of the update, not an independent assessment.
The launch material also highlights MB.OS, the car’s operating system, alongside changes focused on comfort, personalisation and driving. The press kit includes technical documents for readers seeking more detail on the global model; its published information should not be treated as a confirmed UK equipment list.
