You can still buy a sports car with naturally aspirated power, from an attainable rear-drive coupe to a high-revving track-focused Porsche or a V8-powered Mustang. The appeal is immediate throttle response and an engine character that builds with revs—not a guarantee of better speed, reliability, or running costs. The verified examples below show the range, but the available manufacturer evidence supports fewer than ten distinct entries, so this is not presented as a ten-car list.
What naturally aspirated power offers—and what it does not
A naturally aspirated engine draws in air without a turbocharger forcing it into the cylinders. That simple distinction does not determine a car’s performance on its own: displacement, engine layout, tuning, gearing, transmission, and vehicle role all matter. Turbocharged engines can deliver different power and torque characteristics; neither configuration is automatically superior for every driver.
Toyota describes the GR86’s naturally aspirated engine as offering a responsive throttle and an engaging experience. That is Toyota’s promotional language, not independent testing. The more useful buying question is whether a particular car’s engine, transmission, and intended use suit you.
Verified naturally aspirated sports cars
These manufacturer-sourced examples span different price and performance roles. Published output figures are specifications, not independent test results, and should be read with the stated model year, market, and configuration.

Why the examples are not interchangeable
Lightweight coupe: Toyota GR86
The GR86 makes the case for naturally aspirated power without relying on a huge output figure. Its 228-hp engine and available manual transmission are paired with a rear-drive sports-coupe format. Toyota’s quoted acceleration figures differ by transmission, so they should not be treated as a universal measure of the model or compared directly with other manufacturers’ claims.
Track-focused precision: Porsche 911 GT3
The 911 GT3 illustrates how naturally aspirated power can also appear in a much higher-performance package. Porsche offers both PDK and a six-speed GT Sport manual; the 3.2-second 0–60 mph figure applies specifically to PDK. The 2027 GT3 S/C is a separate, manual-only model announced by Porsche in April 2026, not another transmission version of the standard GT3.

V8 character: Mustang Dark Horse and Corvette Z06
Ford’s 2025 Dark Horse pairs a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 with 500 hp and offers a six-speed manual. Chevrolet’s cited 2027 Z06 page describes a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 and up to 670 hp. Their outputs and roles differ substantially; the figures alone do not establish which is quicker in a particular test or better for a given driver.
How to choose between naturally aspirated and turbocharged
Start with the way you intend to use the car, then compare the whole configuration rather than treating “no turbo” as a verdict.

- AUTHENTIC INTERIOR DESIGN - Detailed cockpit with sport bucket seats and driver-focused layout, inspired by the real Revuelto’s aerospace-style interior.
- Driving feel: Consider whether you prefer an engine that builds power with revs and direct throttle response, or the torque delivery and output characteristics of a turbocharged engine.
- Engine and output: Compare layout, displacement, horsepower, and torque, keeping the model year and market attached to each figure.
- Transmission: Check whether the desired car offers a manual, an automatic, or both. Performance claims can depend on transmission, as Porsche’s GT3 and Toyota’s GR86 figures demonstrate.
- Intended role: A road-focused coupe, a track-oriented model, and a high-output V8 sports car answer different needs even when all use naturally aspirated engines.
- Ownership claims: Do not assume that naturally aspirated means more reliable, cheaper to maintain, or better on emissions. The cited model specifications do not establish those comparisons.
Why this is not a list of ten
The manufacturer sources establish five configurations above, including two distinct 911 GT3 models. They do not substantiate ten distinct cars with explicit induction, model-year, and market evidence. Subaru’s 2025 BRZ page identifies a rear-wheel-drive coupe with a 2.4-liter direct-injection boxer rated at 228 hp, but does not explicitly identify its induction. Mazda’s 2025 MX-5 owner’s manual gives a 1,997.6 cc DOHC 16-valve inline-four specification, but the cited information does not state induction either. Those omissions are not proof of naturally aspirated engines, so neither model is counted here as confirmed.
