The Mooncool TK1 Folding is a 500W adult electric trike with a stated 450 lb payload, a 48V 14.5Ah battery and a foldable frame—but Mooncool says it has been replaced by the TK2 and is no longer available to order through its U.S. product page. The advertised range is not independently verified, and the price shown on Mooncool’s Canadian page is a regional snapshot, not a current U.S. offer.
Availability and price
Mooncool’s U.S. TK1 page identifies the TK2 Folding as its replacement and states, “The TK1 is no longer available to order.” That is the manufacturer’s direct-order status; it does not establish whether third-party sellers, used examples or remaining stock are available.
At the time the Canadian product page was accessed in 2026, it displayed a sale price of CA$2,049.99 against a regular price of CA$2,699.99. Those are Canadian-market figures and should not be treated as a current U.S. price or a guaranteed current Canadian offer. Mooncool notes that prices and availability vary by region. Check local stock and terms before considering a purchase.

Motor, battery and advertised range
Mooncool’s Canadian listing describes a 48V, 500W helical motor with 65Nm of torque and a 48V 14.5Ah battery. A November 29, 2023 Mooncool launch announcement says the motor peaks at 1,000W and advertises 35–70 miles per charge. Peak output is not the same figure as the listed 500W motor rating.
The range is a manufacturer estimate, not a result from a standardized independent test established in the available product material. Mooncool does not provide a reproducible test protocol alongside the claim, so real-world distance cannot be inferred from the advertised span alone.

Features and equipment
The Canadian product listing describes a rear differential, hydraulic disc brakes and a parking brake. It also lists a coil-spring suspension fork with mechanical lockout, front and rear baskets, fenders and a rear rack. Mooncool’s 2023 launch announcement additionally describes automatic two-speed shifting, a G51 LCD display and a large foam seat. These are manufacturer descriptions rather than independent evaluations of performance or comfort.
Folding, fit and loading
Mooncool says the TK1 arrives 95% pre-assembled and lists its folded footprint as 100 × 77 × 75 cm. Measure the actual storage space, including room to maneuver the folded trike through doorways or into a vehicle. Folding reduces its footprint; it does not make the trike light. At 89.9 lb net, vehicle loading may require a suitable carrier or assistance, and the carrier’s rated capacity should be checked.

The recommended rider-height range is 5 ft to 6 ft 3 in. That is a manufacturer recommendation, not a substitute for checking riding position and control reach on the specific trike.

Mooncool identifies the TK2 Folding as the TK1’s successor. Its U.S. page says the TK2 retains the folding frame and 450 lb payload, and adds reverse gear alongside a 48V 15Ah (720Wh) battery. Mooncool also lists hydraulic disc brakes and a rear differential as TK2 features; the Canadian TK1 page lists those features for the TK1 as well. These are the manufacturer’s descriptions, not independent comparative test results. Verify the configuration offered in your market before comparing models.

Ownership, shipping and warranty
Mooncool’s trike FAQ, accessed in 2026, lists shipping of 2–10 business days and free shipping to most U.S. states, with exceptions. It states a 30-day free-return window after arrival, subject to condition requirements. The listed warranty from delivery is lifetime coverage for the frame, two years for the battery and one year for many accessories and spare parts. The FAQ excludes tires, inner tubes, brake cables and transmission cables; it also says coverage applies to the first owner with an order number. Policies may change or vary by market, so confirm the terms attached to the specific listing.
Mooncool’s Canadian product page lists a phone holder and front and rear pet carriers as compatible accessories; check mounting compatibility and whether an accessory is included before ordering. The product page lists front and rear baskets as standard equipment.

Who should consider a TK1?
The TK1 may merit consideration if you find a locally supported example and its payload, three-wheel format and folding dimensions suit your use. Before buying, verify the exact regional configuration, condition, included equipment, parts and manual support, and the seller’s warranty and return terms. Do not rely on the advertised range as a guaranteed distance or assume that folding solves the challenge of lifting and transporting an almost 90 lb trike.
