The Mitsubishi Delica Mini is a Japan-market kei super-height wagon, not a factory-built RV. Its outdoor-focused design and Mitsubishi’s camper concepts make it a plausible starting point for a tiny camper conversion—but the bed and pop-up roof shown in concepts are not established production features.
What the Delica Mini is—and what “tiny RV” means here
Mitsubishi introduced the Delica Mini as a small vehicle for everyday driving and outdoor adventures. The redesigned model went on sale in Japan on October 29, 2025. Mitsubishi describes it as a kei super-height wagon; the company’s product page lists four seats and a choice of 2WD or 4WD. Those are passenger-car specifications, not evidence of a factory RV conversion.
The “tiny RV” idea is better understood as a conversion possibility. Show vehicles have demonstrated ways to adapt the small cabin for camping, but the cited announcements do not establish a production camper trim or a commercially available sleeping platform guaranteed to fit customer vehicles.
What Mitsubishi has shown for camping
2023: Coleman collaboration and Snow Survivor
At the Delica Mini’s 2023 launch, Mitsubishi presented a Delica Mini x Coleman camping vehicle and a Snow Survivor concept with an in-vehicle bed. The launch-era coverage also described adjustable rear seating and water-repellent materials as part of the vehicle’s outdoor-oriented approach. These examples explain the micro-camper appeal, but concept equipment should not be treated as standard or optional production-car equipment.

2026: Active Camper concept with a pop-up roof
Mitsubishi’s 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon announcement introduced a Delica Mini Active Camper concept with a pop-up roof, front skid bar, mud flaps and an approximately 25 mm lift kit. The same announcement described another custom vehicle using accessories from DAMD’s DALI brand. Both are custom/show builds—not proof that those parts are standard, factory-orderable, or available for every model year.
A more practical production-car accessory lead
Mitsubishi’s 2025 release named a Wild Adventure style with a roof rack among genuine accessory styles. That is a more direct factory-accessory route than the show concepts, although buyers should confirm current availability and model-year fitment with Mitsubishi or a dealer.

Mitsubishi said the redesigned model advances exterior and interior design, driving performance, safety, ease of handling and user-friendliness while remaining suited to everyday driving and outdoor adventures. That is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent assessment.
What the sales figures do—and do not—show
Mitsubishi reported more than 10,000 orders against a monthly sales plan of 4,000 units around the redesigned model’s 2025 Japan launch. The company also said the original Delica Mini had been selling more than 3,000 units per month domestically before the redesign. These are dated company-reported figures, not current order totals or independent market measurements.

How to assess a Delica Mini as a small camper
- Separate the vehicle from the conversion. The production model is a four-seat kei wagon. The cited bed and pop-up-roof examples are concepts or custom builds.
- Check fitment before buying a bed or platform. No cited source confirms a specific retail sleeping platform compatible with a particular Delica Mini year and configuration. Verify dimensions, seat-folding arrangement and model-year fit directly with the seller.
- Confirm accessory status. A named genuine accessory such as the Wild Adventure roof rack is a stronger production-accessory lead than show-car equipment, but availability and fitment still need confirmation.
- Choose drivetrain and equipment for the intended use. Mitsubishi’s Japan-market listing offers 2WD and 4WD and publishes different WLTC fuel-consumption figures. Compare the actual trim and equipment as well as price; do not assume a concept’s lift, roof or other modifications are included.
- Keep the geography in view. The cited prices, specifications and launch details concern Japan. They do not establish availability, pricing or regulatory status in other markets.
Why the “new dawn” claim needs a qualifier
The Delica Mini gives the tiny-camper idea a convincing visual and accessory-based starting point, and Mitsubishi has repeatedly used concepts to explore that direction. But the available evidence supports a kei wagon with outdoor styling and a conversion story—not a new factory RV category. For a buyer, the key distinction is whether a feature belongs to the production vehicle, a genuine accessory, or a one-off custom build.
