Mini Porsche Go-Kart: What the 964 Turbo Junior Really Is—and What It Costs

The End of S.T.A.Y. 964 Turbo Junior looks like a tiny Porsche 964, but it is an independent electric kart. Here are its real price, claimed speed, safety limits, legality and version differences.

The viral tiny Porsche-shaped car is real, but it is not a cheap Porsche and it is not made by Porsche. The best match for the videos is the End of S.T.A.Y. 964 Turbo Junior Mk5, a roughly half-scale, electric, rear-wheel-drive kart styled after the 964-generation Porsche 911 Turbo.

According to the manufacturer’s current U.S. listing, it starts at $8,800 and can be specified with advertised outputs from 25 to 45 bhp, claimed top speeds from 50 to 94 mph, and a claimed range of 22 to 31 miles. Those are serious recreational-vehicle numbers, not children’s ride-on-toy numbers—and they are manufacturer claims rather than independently tested results.

What is the mini Porsche go-kart?

The vehicle is the 964 Turbo Junior, currently shown as the Mk5 on End of S.T.A.Y.’s U.S. website. It is produced by End of S.T.A.Y. Automotive, an automotive-art and design studio founded in Shanghai, China, with a U.S. operation advertising Los Angeles distribution.

Its body is an approximately 1:2-scale tribute to the Porsche 964 Turbo. The resemblance is the point: round headlights, wide Turbo-style bodywork, a low roofline, rear-drive attitude, and customizable paint, livery, and interior options make it look like a shrunken collector car.

  • Weight Capacity: Designed for a maximum user weight of 110 pounds, providing stability and safety during play

The accurate description, however, is a Porsche 964-inspired electric kart. There is no evidence in the reviewed materials that Porsche manufactures, sells, endorses, or licenses this particular vehicle. Do not confuse it with an official Porsche Driver’s Selection pedal go-kart or with Porsche scale models.

Safe shorthand: End of S.T.A.Y. 964 Turbo Junior, a half-scale electric kart inspired by the Porsche 964 Turbo.

Misleading shorthand: Porsche’s mini 911, official Porsche go-kart, Porsche-built replica, or licensed Porsche kart.

Current Mk5 specifications

The following specifications come from the current U.S. 964 Turbo Junior listing at End of S.T.A.Y. USA. They should be read as advertised figures, not as independently verified test data.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Specification Current listed claim
Model 964 Turbo Junior
Generation shown Mk5
Scale 1:2
Dimensions 87 × 43 × 28 inches
Weight 441 lb
Listed capacity 661 lb
Layout Rear-engine, rear-wheel drive, according to the maker
Battery Ternary lithium-ion
Suspension listing Double wishbone / solid axle
Standard charging 6 hours
Quick charging 3.5 hours
Claimed range 22–31 miles
Driver fitment Approximately 4 ft 7 in to 6 ft 3 in
Starting price $8,800
Highest claimed speed 94 mph

The published dimensions and 441-pound weight are important practical details. This is not the kind of toy most people can casually lift into a car trunk. Buyers should plan for a trailer, truck, loading ramp, storage space, and a safe way to charge the vehicle.

The listing describes a steel chassis, adjustable seating, LED lighting, sound simulation, a hydraulic handbrake, and rear-wheel drive. The manufacturer also advertises performance-oriented configurations and customization. The public specification page does not provide a battery capacity in kilowatt-hours or amp-hours, tire dimensions, suspension travel, braking distances, minimum turning radius, or a detailed safety-certification record.

How fast is it?

There is no single answer because End of S.T.A.Y. lists several powertrain tiers. The current U.S. page identifies four versions:

Version Advertised output Advertised top speed Configuration
Standard Carrera S 25 bhp Up to 50 mph Threaded tires
Performance GT3 34 bhp Up to 71 mph Slick tires
Ultimate GT3 RSR 45 bhp Up to 94 mph Slick tires; approximately 25-mile claimed range; claimed 0–60 mph in 4.5 seconds
Dakar Rally 34 bhp Up to 71 mph All-terrain tires, extended suspension, Rothmans-style livery

That table explains why online videos and older articles report very different speeds. A 45-mph or 50-mph figure may describe a lower-output version, an older generation, or a different distributor’s configuration. It should not be combined with the Mk5 Ultimate GT3 RSR claim as though every 964 Turbo Junior reaches 94 mph.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The 94-mph figure and 4.5-second 0–60-mph claim are particularly important to qualify. No independent dyno test, acceleration test, braking test, range test, or crash test was located in the reviewed public sources. The responsible wording is End of S.T.A.Y. advertises up to 94 mph, not the kart safely does 94 mph.

What do the tires change?

The tire choice is more than a cosmetic trim detail:

  • Threaded or treaded tires: the Standard Carrera S configuration is presented as the more general-purpose option in the manufacturer’s lineup.
  • Slick tires: the Performance GT3 and Ultimate GT3 RSR versions prioritize dry-track grip and are less appropriate for wet or unpredictable surfaces.
  • All-terrain tires: the Dakar Rally version pairs them with extended suspension for a different private-property or off-road use case.

Whether a specific track permits slicks, all-terrain tires, or privately owned electric karts is a separate question. The manufacturer’s configuration label does not guarantee venue approval.

Can a full-size adult fit?

According to the current listing, the intended driver range is approximately 4 feet 7 inches to 6 feet 3 inches. The adjustable seating helps explain why this is marketed as an adult-size junior car rather than a child’s pedal toy.

hauck Ride On Pedal Go Kart Toy w/ Adjustable Bucket Seat, for Boys & Girls Ages 4-8, Red
  • Ride-On Toy: Ride-on pedal kart encouraging outdoor play, physical activity, and imaginative adventures; Ideal for kids aged 4 to 8 years (90 to 110 centimeters), encouraging outdoor play
  • Smooth Ride: Equipped with plastic wheels featuring a sturdy rubber profile and a handbrake for both rear wheels, ensuring a smooth ride and effortless braking
  • Customizable Seating: Bucket seat is adjustable, offering 2 positions (44 centimeters and 51 centimeters from seat to pedal) for optimal comfort as kids grow

  • Weight Capacity: Designed for a maximum user weight of 110 pounds, providing stability and safety during play

That height range is not a complete fitment guarantee. Before ordering, ask for the seat’s adjustment range, pedal-to-seat measurements, steering-wheel clearance, maximum driver weight, and the meaning of the listed 661-pound capacity. A vehicle’s total listed capacity is not necessarily the same thing as its recommended driver weight.

The public materials focus on one driver and do not establish passenger capacity. Unless the seller specifically confirms that a configuration is designed and approved for two occupants, treat it as a single-seat vehicle. Do not add a passenger seat or modify the restraint system yourself.

Is it actually a Porsche?

No—not in the sense most buyers would assume. The styling reference is the Porsche 964 Turbo, but the vehicle is an independent product from End of S.T.A.Y.

Porsche’s own materials located during research cover the full-size 911 range, scale models, and an older official pedal go-kart. They do not identify the End of S.T.A.Y. 964 Turbo Junior as a Porsche product. If a seller uses words such as licensed, official, endorsed, or approved, ask for documentary evidence rather than relying on the body shape or Porsche-like branding.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The distinction matters for warranty, parts, insurance, resale, and expectations. A Porsche dealer should not be assumed to service the kart, stock its battery or controller, or handle a warranty claim.

Price: cheaper than a Porsche, but not cheap

The current U.S. site lists the 964 Turbo Junior from $8,800. It also lists the 964 Cabriolet Junior from $8,800 and other models, including AE86, NA MX5, and Defender variants, from approximately $7,500 to $8,800. These are advertised starting prices rather than guaranteed delivered totals.

Older End of S.T.A.Y. storefront pages show several 964 variants at approximately $6,200 to $6,700. Some third-party listings show different prices and specifications, including lower figures. Those discrepancies may reflect different model generations, sellers, currencies, configurations, inventory status, or revised marketing. Compare the exact written specification and final invoice, not just the headline price.

The older company Q&A says vehicles were built in Shanghai, normally took two to three weeks to manufacture, and then required shipping and customs-clearance time. The newer U.S. website advertises a Los Angeles warehouse and U.S. distribution. Confirm whether a particular order is domestic inventory or a factory import before paying a deposit.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What may be added to the advertised price?

Ask for an itemized delivered quote that includes:

  • Freight and local delivery
  • Customs clearance, import duties, and tariffs
  • Sales tax
  • Assembly or inspection
  • Charger or spare-battery costs
  • Warranty coverage in your country
  • Replacement tires, brake components, body panels, and shipping for parts
  • Trailer, track membership, storage, and transport costs

The practical ownership cost can be substantially higher than $8,800 if the vehicle must be imported, transported to a track, stored indoors, or maintained without a nearby parts network.

Warranty questions

An older company Q&A states that the battery, electric motor, and ECU received a one-year warranty and that damage or defects should be reported within seven days of delivery. That policy should not automatically be treated as the current U.S. warranty. Obtain the terms attached to the specific order in writing, including coverage for battery degradation, charger failure, controller failure, motor failure, shipping damage, cosmetic parts, and customized or made-to-order vehicles.

How it compares with a real Porsche

The joke behind the title is easy to understand: the mini kart costs far less than a new 911. Porsche’s U.S. configurator lists a 2027 911 Carrera from $135,500, before options, taxes, title, registration, delivery, and dealer charges. At $8,800, the 964 Turbo Junior is roughly 6.5% of that starting price.

But the price gap does not represent a bargain version of the same product. It represents two entirely different machines.

Specialty kart parts and support Manufacturer and dealer service network

It is also a misleading comparison to say that the kart is a cheap substitute for an original 964 Turbo. The 964 Turbo 3.6 is a collectible Porsche; the 2025 Sports Car Market Pocket Price Guide lists approximately $300,000 to $400,000 for 1993–94 examples depending on condition and market context. That does not mean every 964 Turbo costs that amount. Mileage, originality, provenance, condition, specification, and market timing can change the value dramatically.

Older Mk4 and reseller specifications are not the Mk5 specification

Buyers should be especially careful with search results that merge multiple generations. An older Mk4 listing describes a 2,500-watt motor, an 80-km/h top speed, 35–50 km of claimed range, approximately 110 kg of weight, 300 kg of capacity, and a seven-hour charging time. It also describes a hidden parent’s mode limiting speed to approximately 10 km/h.

Other sellers describe standard and performance versions with 3,000-watt and 4,000-watt motors and claimed top speeds of 45 and 65 mph. A third-party listing may use names such as Nine64, Retro Kart, or 964 Turbo Junior. The available evidence does not establish that all of those names represent one identical specification, nor that every Nine64 listing is a separate model.

In practical terms, the name alone is not enough. Confirm all of the following on the invoice:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Mk4 or Mk5 generation
  • Exact powertrain tier
  • Motor and controller specification
  • Battery voltage and capacity
  • Tire type
  • Brake and suspension configuration
  • Safety-mode and key-control system
  • Final top-speed setting

The current Mk5 U.S. page instead lists a two-key safety mode capped at 12 mph until unlocked. Treat that as a current-generation listing feature, not as proof that every earlier kart has the same system.

Where can you drive it?

The available evidence points to private property and closed-course use, not ordinary public-road driving. The older manufacturer Q&A recommends a go-kart circuit for the 964 and AE86 Junior models. Third-party sellers describe the 964/Nine64-style vehicle as not intended for road use or not street legal.

That does not justify saying it is illegal everywhere. Registration, off-highway rules, land-use restrictions, insurance, and vehicle definitions vary by state and locality. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s framework distinguishes vehicles manufactured primarily for public-road use from off-road and racing vehicles, but the applicable state and local rules determine where a particular vehicle may be operated or registered.

Do not assume that a VIN, title, or registration is included. Ask whether the vehicle has a serial number, VIN, certificate of origin, title, and import documentation—and whether any of those documents actually permit public-road registration in your jurisdiction. If the seller cannot document road compliance, treat it as an off-road recreational vehicle.

Will a kart track accept it?

Not necessarily. Before purchasing or transporting the kart, contact the specific venue and provide the exact model, dimensions, weight, speed setting, tire type, and powertrain. Ask about:

  • Maximum vehicle width, wheelbase, and weight
  • Maximum permitted speed
  • Privately owned electric karts
  • Slick and all-terrain tires
  • Barrier, runoff, and recovery requirements
  • Driver briefings, memberships, or racing licenses
  • Insurance exclusions for privately owned high-speed karts

A manufacturer recommendation to use a kart track does not mean every kart track has suitable barriers, insurance, or operating rules for a 441-pound vehicle advertised at up to 94 mph.

The safety reality

The 50-mph version already deserves more respect than a child’s ride-on. The advertised 71-mph and 94-mph versions should be treated as serious high-speed recreational machines. A short-wheelbase, low-seating-position, rear-wheel-drive vehicle with instant electric torque and a hydraulic handbrake can be entertaining, but it can also become difficult to control when a slide ends or the tires regain grip. That is an inference from the listed configuration, not a firsthand test result.

The older company Q&A recommends a helmet and says inexperienced users should operate under the instruction of an experienced driver. At minimum, a responsible owner should use:

  • Closed-toe footwear
  • Gloves
  • Long sleeves and long pants
  • Eye protection if the helmet does not provide it
  • A properly inspected brake, steering, throttle, tire, and battery system
  • A controlled, closed course with adequate runoff

No independent crash testing, rollover testing, recognized motorsports certification, or detailed restraint-system documentation was found in the reviewed public materials. Ask specifically whether the vehicle has a seat belt or harness, roll bar or rollover protection, emergency battery disconnect, throttle fail-safe, battery-management protections, and documented brake testing. Do not retrofit a restraint or roll structure without qualified engineering advice; an improvised modification can create new hazards.

There is also an important regulatory context. The Consumer Product Safety Commission describes ASTM F2011 fun-karts as off-road recreational vehicles traveling over 12 mph but not exceeding 40 mph. CPSC also explains that ASTM F2011 is an industry voluntary standard rather than a mandatory federal CPSC standard specifically governing all fun-karts. That definition does not by itself establish that the End of S.T.A.Y. kart violates a law, but it does show why a 71- or 94-mph version should not casually be discussed as an ordinary children’s go-kart.

Range and charging

The current U.S. listing claims 22–31 miles of range, while the Ultimate GT3 RSR listing specifies approximately 25 miles. Older listings quote different figures, including 18.5–25 miles or 35–50 km. None of the reviewed sources provides a standardized test cycle.

Actual range will depend on speed, driver weight, tire choice, surface, temperature, battery condition, and how often the vehicle is accelerated or drifted. Repeated high-load driving can produce a very different result from gentle low-speed laps. Use the manufacturer’s figures as claimed range, not as a guaranteed real-world distance.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Standard charging is listed at six hours and quick charging at 3.5 hours. Before buying, confirm the charger’s voltage and plug requirements, whether quick charging is included or optional, whether charging is permitted indoors, and the replacement cost and lead time for the battery and charger.

What driving it will—and will not—feel like

The kart can reproduce the visual drama and some of the playful rear-drive behavior associated with a 964 Turbo, but it cannot reproduce the experience of the full-size Porsche. It has no flat-six engine, manual gearbox, full-size suspension geometry, full-size tire behavior, road-car braking system, passenger accommodation, weather protection, crash protection, highway equipment, or Porsche dealer support.

Its appeal is closer to a fast electric kart wearing a highly elaborate 964 Turbo costume. The low seating position, rear-wheel drive, electric response, and handbrake are central to the entertainment value. They are also reasons to begin at the reduced speed setting, use a controlled course, and practice without attempting to drift immediately.

Who is it for?

A good fit

  • A Porsche collector who wants an unusual display piece that can also be driven
  • A design-focused enthusiast attracted to the bodywork and customization
  • An experienced karting or motorsport user with suitable private-track access
  • A buyer who understands that the purchase is recreation and novelty, not transportation
  • An owner with secure storage, charging access, transport equipment, and a maintenance plan

A poor fit

  • Anyone looking for a commuter or public-road vehicle
  • Families seeking a beginner children’s ride-on
  • Buyers without safe private driving space or access to an accepting track
  • Anyone expecting Porsche dealer service, Porsche parts, or Porsche warranty support
  • A buyer attracted only by the phrase cheap Porsche

Alternatives based on the goal

If you want Porsche styling

An official Porsche pedal car or scale model is a more appropriate choice for a child’s gift, display, or brand-authentic collection. Porsche announced an official Porsche Driver’s Selection Go-Kart in 2013. It was a pedal-powered children’s product recommended for ages five and older, with a 110-pound maximum rider weight, a five-foot maximum height, tubular steel frame, sport seat, back-pedal brake, handbrake, and a suggested retail price of $900.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That historical product should not be presented as a current offering without a live listing. It is also fundamentally different from the End of S.T.A.Y. electric kart: official and child-oriented versus independent, high-performance, and adult-sized.

If you want to drift

A conventional electric drift kart can provide a lower-cost way to learn whether you enjoy kart dynamics. A rental karting or drift session is an even better first step because it lets you try the activity before committing to an $8,800-plus vehicle, transport, storage, and maintenance.

Do not compare only purchase prices. Compare speed, braking, frame construction, battery capacity, tire availability, parts support, insurance, and whether the intended track accepts the kart.

If you want to own a real Porsche

A used Boxster, Cayman, or 911 is a fundamentally different purchase, with insurance, registration, maintenance, inspection, and road use. It may better satisfy someone who wants to drive a Porsche rather than display or operate a specialty kart. A real 964 Turbo is not the budget alternative; it is a collectible-car purchase with collectible-car prices and maintenance concerns.

Buying checklist

Before paying a deposit, request written answers to these questions:

  1. Is the vehicle a Mk4 or Mk5?
  2. Which exact trim and powertrain tier is included?
  3. What are the battery’s nominal voltage, capacity, chemistry, replacement cost, and expected service process?
  4. What is the maximum recommended driver weight, separate from the listed vehicle capacity?
  5. What are the precise seat and pedal adjustment measurements?
  6. What brake components, fluid, pads, tires, and body panels are used, and can replacements be supplied?
  7. What independent data exists for top speed, acceleration, range, and braking?
  8. Does the vehicle have a seat belt or harness, roll protection, emergency disconnect, and throttle fail-safe?
  9. Does it have a VIN, serial number, certificate of origin, title, or import documentation?
  10. Is it intended solely for private or track use, and what does the seller say about registration?
  11. Is the order coming from Los Angeles inventory or directly from China?
  12. What is the final delivered price after freight, customs, duties, tax, assembly, and local delivery?
  13. What does the written warranty cover, and what are the reporting deadlines?
  14. How are transit damage, customized orders, refunds, and returns handled?
  15. Are technical support and spare parts available in your country?
  16. Has the intended track confirmed that it accepts this exact vehicle?

These checks matter because current U.S. pricing, older storefront pricing, third-party specifications, and generation labels do not line up perfectly. A clear invoice and written specification are more valuable than a viral video or a reseller’s generic product title.

Bottom line

The End of S.T.A.Y. 964 Turbo Junior is a spectacularly elaborate electric drift kart wearing a Porsche 964 Turbo costume. It is not an affordable Porsche, not a road-going 911 substitute, and not automatically a children’s toy. The current Mk5 U.S. listing makes it a serious recreational machine: $8,800 to start, up to a claimed 94 mph, roughly 441 pounds, and intended for private or track use.

For a Porsche collector with safe storage, track access, and an appetite for novelty, the combination of styling and performance may justify the price. For anyone seeking transportation, Porsche authenticity, a beginner-friendly family vehicle, or a guaranteed cheap thrill, a rental session, conventional drift kart, official pedal car, or real used sports car is likely the better answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the mini Porsche go-kart made by Porsche?

No. The vehicle identified in viral videos is generally the End of S.T.A.Y. 964 Turbo Junior, an independent electric kart inspired by the Porsche 964 Turbo. The reviewed materials do not show that Porsche manufactures, endorses, or licenses it.

Which version of the 964 Turbo Junior can reach 94 mph?

The current U.S. Mk5 listing attributes the up-to-94-mph claim to the 45-bhp Ultimate GT3 RSR. Lower versions are listed at up to 50 or 71 mph. These are manufacturer claims, not independently verified test results.

Can the 964 Turbo Junior be driven on public roads?

It should not be assumed to be street legal. Available manufacturer and reseller materials point to private-property or closed-course use. Registration and off-highway rules vary by jurisdiction, so ask the seller and local authorities for documentation before considering road use.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can an adult fit in the mini Porsche kart?

The current U.S. listing gives an approximate driver height range of 4 feet 7 inches to 6 feet 3 inches and describes adjustable seating. Confirm the actual seat and pedal measurements, maximum driver weight, and passenger policy for the exact configuration before ordering.

How much does the mini Porsche go-kart cost?

The current U.S. 964 Turbo Junior listing starts at $8,800. Older End of S.T.A.Y. storefront listings show approximately $6,200–$6,700, while third-party sellers may show other prices. Freight, tax, customs, delivery, options, and track-related costs may be additional.

Is it a practical replacement for a Porsche 911?

No. It is a specialty recreational kart and display piece. It lacks the road legality, crash protection, weather protection, passenger capacity, highway capability, range, and dealer support of a full-size Porsche.

The Bottom Line

The honest verdict: the 964 Turbo Junior is a high-performance electric kart with convincing Porsche 964 styling—not a Porsche-made bargain car. Its advertised 50–94 mph performance makes safety, track acceptance, legality, version verification, and delivered cost more important than the viral joke suggests.
