Los 197 CV del titular de Diariomotor no coinciden con esas cifras oficiales. El precio de 18.590 euros citado por ese medio depende de promociones y financiación, por lo que no debe entenderse como una tarifa general garantizada.
Qué coche es el «Renault Clio de MG»
Es el MG3 Hybrid+, la versión híbrida autorrecargable (HEV) del MG3. «Renault Clio de MG» es una comparación editorial, no el nombre oficial de un modelo ni una denominación empleada por el fabricante. MG lo sitúa en el segmento B.

La comparación tiene sentido como referencia entre coches pequeños de orientación generalista, pero no convierte al MG3 y al Clio en el mismo coche ni basta por sí sola para decidir cuál conviene: hay que comparar motorización, acabado, precio de compra y condiciones de financiación equivalentes.

La cifra técnica más consistente en las publicaciones de MG es 143 kW de potencia combinada. En su comunicado de lanzamiento del 9 de abril de 2024, MG la expresó como 195 CV; en una publicación de 2026 sobre la edición Business Edition la expresó como 196 CV. El artículo de Diariomotor del 3 de octubre de 2026 dice 197 CV en el titular, pero esa cifra no coincide con las equivalencias publicadas por MG.

Por tanto, la forma más clara de identificar la potencia es citar los 143 kW y especificar la equivalencia publicada en la fuente y fecha correspondiente, en lugar de tratar 195, 196 y 197 CV como cifras intercambiables. MG también atribuyó al sistema Hybrid+ una aceleración de 0 a 100 km/h en 8 segundos y lo describió como el híbrido del segmento B con la aceleración más rápida de su clase; esa última comparación es una afirmación promocional del fabricante, no una verificación independiente.

Consumo homologado y consumo real
MG publica un consumo combinado de 4,4 l/100 km en ciclo WLTP para el MG3 Hybrid+. Es un dato de homologación que permite comparar coches medidos con el mismo procedimiento; no garantiza que el coche consuma esa cantidad en cada trayecto. El consumo real puede variar según el recorrido, el tráfico, la temperatura, la carga y la forma de conducir.

La cifra del Clio consultada por km77 corresponde al Clio techno full hybrid E-Tech 160: 3,9 l/100 km combinados WLTP, según su ficha con tarifa de mayo de 2026. En ese dato de homologación, el Clio registra un consumo inferior al publicado para el MG3. Para una comparación de compra completa también habría que cotejar acabados y tarifas de la misma fecha; no se debe confundir el consumo homologado con el obtenido en uso real.

Diariomotor publicó el 3 de octubre de 2026 un precio promocional de 18.590 euros para el MG3 Hybrid+, condicionado a promociones y financiación. El mismo artículo indicó 20.180 euros sin financiar. Son importes atribuidos a esa noticia, no precios confirmados como tarifa vigente en la web oficial de MG; las promociones pueden cambiar.

Para saber cuánto costaría realmente, conviene pedir una oferta por escrito que identifique versión y acabado, precio al contado, importe financiado, duración, comisiones y coste total del crédito. ¿Es más barato y potente que el Renault Clio?
No se puede confirmar con las cifras disponibles que el MG3 sea «el coche más barato y potente» de España en 2026. Esa afirmación exigiría delimitar qué coches, versiones, tarifas, descuentos y condiciones de financiación entran en la comparación, además de verificar sus precios vigentes. El precio promocional citado para el MG3 no es una tarifa general asegurada.
La comparación concreta con el Renault Clio también depende de la versión. Renault anuncia para el Clio actual una opción híbrida de 160 CV y una de gasolina de 115 CV. Frente a los 143 kW combinados del MG3, las cifras de potencia declaradas no están expresadas en la misma unidad en todas las fuentes y conviene atender a la versión exacta. En consumo homologado, la ficha consultada del Clio full hybrid indica 3,9 l/100 km, frente a los 4,4 l/100 km publicados por MG para el MG3.
Una comparación útil antes de comprar debe usar el mismo tipo de precio y condiciones para ambos y revisar:
- El acabado y equipamiento incluidos en cada oferta.
- El precio al contado y, si se financia, el coste total del crédito.
- La potencia combinada declarada y la motorización exacta.
- El consumo WLTP combinado, separado de cualquier consumo real.
- El tamaño, el espacio y la etiqueta ambiental de la versión concreta.
- La garantía aplicable y las condiciones vigentes en la fecha de compra.
Diariomotor también atribuyó a ANFAC 10.686 matriculaciones acumuladas del MG3 entre sus versiones de gasolina e híbrida durante 2026. Esa cifra se refiere al conjunto de motorizaciones y, tal como la cita el artículo, no permite deducir cuántas unidades fueron Hybrid+.
