In its April 26, 2023 announcement, the automaker said the upgrade could add 60 or 80 horsepower and cut 0–60 mph times by 0.8 to 1.0 second, depending on the model. The launch prices started at $60 per month. Those prices and the eligible model list should not be assumed current: Mercedes-Benz’s app page still describes the feature, but directs buyers to check availability for their vehicle in the Mercedes me connect Store.
Which Mercedes EVs did the upgrade cover?
Mercedes-Benz USA’s April 26, 2023 announcement named four North American variants: the EQE 350 4MATIC sedan and SUV, and the EQS 450 4MATIC sedan and SUV. It did not list every EQE or EQS. The figures below are Mercedes-Benz’s published launch claims, not independent test results. Read the announcement.

The announced amounts were US dollars and applied to the vehicles named in the 2023 release. Mercedes-Benz’s current Mercedes-Benz USA app page still describes Acceleration Increase as a digital extra for improving an all-electric Mercedes-Benz’s 0–60 mph time, but does not confirm that launch pricing or eligibility remains in effect.
How the paid acceleration upgrade works
Mercedes-Benz described Acceleration Increase as an over-the-air software integration, so the 2023 announcement said owners would not need a dealership visit. It is an acceleration and 0–60 mph upgrade; the cited announcement does not establish that it raises the cars’ top-speed limit.

The practical buying check is vehicle-specific: look up the car in the Mercedes me connect Store and verify that Acceleration Increase is offered, along with the current price and terms, before deciding. The company’s current app page describes the feature but does not provide the original price table or confirm eligibility by model year.
Is the subscription worth it?
That depends on how long you expect to keep the car and whether the claimed improvement matters to you. At the announced 2023 rates, the EQE’s $600 annual option equaled ten $60 monthly payments; the EQS’s $900 annual option equaled ten $90 monthly payments. The lifetime options—$1,950 for the EQE and $2,950 for the EQS—were roughly equivalent to 32.5 monthly EQE payments or 32.8 monthly EQS payments. These are simple comparisons of the launch prices, not confirmation of current offers or terms.

Mercedes-Benz’s reported gains varied by model: 60 hp and 0.9–1.0 second for the listed EQE variants, and 80 hp and 0.8–0.9 second for the listed EQS variants. No independent test of this specific upgrade is established here, so treat those performance figures as the automaker’s claims rather than verified real-world results.

Acceleration Increase is distinct from subscriptions for other vehicle features. For example, Tesla’s US page lists a $99-per-month Full Self-Driving (Supervised) subscription for supervised driver-assistance features; it is not an acceleration upgrade and is not the same kind of service.
