What is the Souo S2000 GL?
Souo is a motorcycle marque associated with Great Wall Motor (GWM). GWM introduced the marque and the S2000 GL at the Beijing International Motorcycle Exhibition in 2024, according to Cycle Gear’s launch-era report. That report described a 2,000 cc flat-eight engine, an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), a 12.3-inch TFT display, heated grips and seats, over-the-air updates, reverse, and a parking brake. These are reported launch details, not a current manufacturer specification sheet.
At CES 2026, the S2000 was displayed with a 2.0-liter flat-eight engine. Car and Driver reported output of 154 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. Those figures should be attributed to that report: the available information does not independently verify them against an official Souo spec sheet.
Reported specifications vary by publication and version. A separate heise autos report describes ST and GL versions and an eight-speed DCT with reverse, but reports different weight and output figures. The numbers should not be combined into a single definitive specification without a current, version-specific manufacturer source.

How does it compare with the Honda Gold Wing?
Honda’s official U.S. listing for the 2026 standard Gold Wing gives a useful baseline. It is a specification comparison, not evidence of how the motorcycles perform against each other on the road.

Honda’s figures and price are specific to the U.S. 2026 standard Gold Wing. Honda’s Gold Wing model page also lists 2027 and 2026 versions, so a price comparison needs to identify the model year, trim, market, and whether destination is included.

Is the Souo S2000 a real Honda Gold Wing rival?
It is a prospective rival in the sense that it is presented as a large, feature-equipped grand-tourer and has been compared with the Gold Wing. The reported flat-eight, DCT, reverse, and touring equipment point to similar ambitions. But published specifications alone cannot establish comparative acceleration, comfort, handling, durability, dealer support, or value. No independent head-to-head test, reliability survey, or market-share evidence is established here.
For a buyer, the decisive comparison would require verified specifications for the exact Souo version, a ride on both motorcycles, and locally confirmed pricing, warranty, parts, and service support. Weight figures also need careful treatment: published Souo weight reports differ, and a number cannot establish low-speed handling on its own.

How much horsepower does the Souo S2000 have?
Car and Driver’s CES 2026 report gives the S2000 154 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. Treat that as an attributed media-reported figure, not an independently confirmed official Souo specification.

The available reports do not establish current U.S. dealer sales or retail availability. Cycle Gear said in its 2024 launch-era coverage that Souo had not disclosed a release date, price, or intended markets at that time. The motorcycle’s display at CES 2026 confirms a show appearance, not that it is currently available for purchase in the United States.
