McMurtry announced that production of the single-seat Spéirling PURE electric track car had begun on 9 February 2026, but that announcement was not a customer-delivery confirmation. The company later showed the production-form car and said deliveries were expected later in 2026. As of 4 October 2026, the available sources do not confirm a first customer handover.
What McMurtry’s production announcement means
On 9 February 2026, McMurtry Automotive said Spéirling PURE production was commencing at a new 2,700 m² facility in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, England. The company then expected its first customer car to be handed over in Summer 2026. That was a forecast, not evidence that a handover occurred.
Subsequent milestones showed production taking shape: McMurtry’s archive listed a factory feature on 26 February and, on 11 June, a build-series update saying the first production-spec car was approaching completion. On 2 July, the company revealed the final production form and said deliveries would begin later in 2026. A 23 July archive item described the first production-spec car as in build; a September item called its US appearance the production-form car’s global debut. None of those milestones confirms a named customer delivery by 4 October 2026.
McMurtry’s February announcement and factory details are in its production commencement release; the July specifications and delivery wording appear in its final production-form announcement. The dated build updates are listed in the McMurtry news archive.

Price and charging details
McMurtry lists a starting price of £995,000, excluding applicable taxes, shipping and options. This is the manufacturer’s stated starting price, not a verified final transaction price. Its inquiry wording said it was assigning the last available build slots, but did not give a count of slots remaining. Confirm current availability and the complete delivered price with McMurtry.
The IAA MOBILITY overview says charging from 20% to 95% at a DC fast-charging station takes 20–60 minutes, depending on charging power and ambient temperature. It also describes an optional portable 100 kWh energy-storage unit with 120 kW output for charging away from fixed track infrastructure. Confirm its current availability and compatibility directly with McMurtry before treating it as a purchasing option.

What kind of car is the Spéirling PURE?
The PURE is a single-seat hyper track car, not a conventional mass-market road car. McMurtry describes it as usable for track days, but the published material here does not establish road-legal status. Buyers should clarify intended-use requirements, support arrangements and charging logistics with the manufacturer rather than assume ordinary road-car equipment or generic EV charging products will suit it.
McMurtry describes the production launch as a new phase for the company. Joint owner Richard McMurtry said, “With Spéirling entering production and McMurtry Technology established to commercialise our innovations, this is an exciting new phase of strategic growth.” That is the company’s stated view of the launch, not an independent assessment.
