The crossover Mazda teased was the EZ-60, unveiled at Auto Shanghai on April 23, 2025, and launched in China in September 2025. It is not an all-electric-only model: Mazda announced both battery-electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) versions. Mazda has named the crossover CX-6e in plans for some export markets, but its February 2026 presentation does not establish a European sales date.
What was the Mazda crossover teaser?
It was the Mazda EZ-60, unveiled by Changan Mazda at the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition on April 23, 2025. The vehicle was developed and manufactured by Changan Mazda, the joint venture between Mazda and Changan Automobile. Mazda described it as the second new-energy vehicle produced through that collaboration. Mazda’s reveal announcement introduced the model for China; Mazda’s February 2026 results presentation says it launched there in September 2025.
The “all-electric” description needs a qualification: the EZ-60 range includes a BEV and a PHEV. So the teaser was for an electrified crossover with a fully electric version, not a model line made up exclusively of battery-electric vehicles.
What are the EZ-60’s announced powertrain and range figures?

Both figures appeared in Mazda’s April 2025 China-market reveal and were described as provisional. They should not be treated as directly comparable with range figures measured on a different test cycle. The PHEV figure also describes the stated overall range per refueling, not battery-only driving distance. Mazda’s announcement does not give a separate electric-only range for the PHEV.

What features and dimensions did Mazda disclose?
Mazda’s reveal listed these specifications and equipment for the displayed EZ-60:
- Dimensions of 4,850 mm long, 1,935 mm wide and 1,620 mm high; Mazda said the dimensions were tentative and could differ from mass-production specifications.
- Five seats, rear-wheel drive and 255/40R21 tires.
- A 26.45-inch 5K integrated center display, virtual 3D head-up display, 23 speakers and 3D sound.
These are manufacturer-stated details from the reveal, not a final specification sheet for every market or version. Mazda presented the design theme as “FUTURE + SOUL x MODERN” and said airflow passages, including around the hood, were intended to support aerodynamic characteristics and high-speed power-consumption efficiency. Will the Mazda EZ-60 come to Europe?
The available official information does not establish a European sales date for the EZ-60 or its export-market name, CX-6e. Mazda’s February 2026 presentation describes export preparations beyond Europe, including Thailand, Australia and other countries, and says it plans to introduce the CX-6e in Australia, New Zealand and other regions in the second half of 2026. Those are plans, not confirmation of sales in each named market or in Europe. Mazda’s presentation does not give a European CX-6e launch date.
There is a separate Mazda electric car already associated with Europe, but it is a sedan: Mazda says the Mazda6e is the European-market BEV version of the China-market EZ-6, and that it went on sale in Europe in September 2025. The EZ-6 is not the EZ-60. The sedan’s European launch therefore does not demonstrate that the crossover is available there. Mazda announced the Arata concept and a plan for an electrified production model in China at Auto China in April 2024. The concept provides design background, but its features should not be assumed to be standard or available on the production EZ-60. Mazda’s Arata announcement.
