A 37-year-old motorcycle rider died after a collision with a vehicle towing a boat and trailer on Fields Street in Pinjarra, Western Australia, on Thursday, 21 January 2021. The West Australian reported the crash happened at about 5:10 pm, roughly 50 metres east of Butler Street.

In a report published on 22 January 2021, The West Australian said the motorcycle collided with a Toyota Prado Hilux towing a boat and trailer. The motorcycle was described as a red-and-white Honda.
The rider suffered critical injuries and died at the scene, according to the report. It said the towing vehicle’s driver was not seriously injured, qualifying that account with “It is understood.”

What was known about the investigation?
The contemporaneous report said Major Crash investigators were seeking witnesses who had seen the collision or either vehicle in the area beforehand. Investigators also requested dash-camera, CCTV or mobile-phone footage. That was an appeal made at the time, not a current request.
The report did not explain how the collision occurred or establish fault. It also did not name the rider.
