Model year 2025 and newer Air vehicles are slated to receive it over the air. Model year 2022 and 2023 cars, plus some 2024 cars, need an infotainment hardware upgrade; Lucid lists that upgrade at $950 before applicable taxes in the U.S. The Gravity-inspired redesign adds refreshed controls, navigation and profile features, along with expanded Apple CarPlay and Android Auto views.

Lucid’s announcement does not say that installing the software alone enables UX 3.0 on every older Air. The company has not specified in these announcements how owners can identify which 2024 vehicles require hardware work, so verify by vehicle with Lucid. Details are in Lucid’s September 29, 2026 announcement and its Air UX 3.0 feature overview.
What does the older-Air hardware upgrade cost?
Lucid states a U.S. price of $950, excluding applicable taxes, for the infotainment hardware upgrade on eligible older Air vehicles. The company said pricing for other markets would be available later; no non-U.S. price is established in its September 29, 2026 announcement. Confirm both eligibility and the applicable local price with Lucid before scheduling service.
What changes in Air UX 3.0?
Lucid describes the update as a substantial infotainment redesign, with changes to the home screen, controls, navigation, vehicle profiles and phone integration. The listed features are manufacturer descriptions; the cited announcements do not provide independent performance measurements.

- Faster profile switching is among the changes Lucid describes, but the company has not published an independent speed measurement.
Navigation and EV routing
- Navigation gains Favorites and Auto Dark Mode.
- EV routing preferences can favor selected charging networks, include stations requiring a Lucid-approved adapter, and set a minimum arrival range.
The adapter reference is about which charging stations routing can include; it does not establish that any particular third-party adapter is approved. Check compatibility and approval with Lucid before choosing an adapter.
Profiles, entry and phone displays
- Guest-profile privacy controls and revised Easy Entry & Exit are part of the redesign.
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can now expand to fill the Right Cockpit Panel, according to Lucid.
Why is the update compared with Gravity?
Lucid says Air UX 3.0 is inspired by the in-car user experience introduced in the Gravity. The company specifically notes that navigation features such as Favorites and Auto Dark Mode had been available in Gravity. The comparison also does not mean that UX 3.0 is when Air first gains phone projection. In March 2026, Lucid said Gravity would receive Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through a phased UX 3.5 OTA rollout in North America, with Europe and the Middle East scheduled for later that month. Lucid said Air already had both integrations as standard at the time. The announcement is available from Lucid’s Gravity rollout notice.

No. Lucid made Android Auto available to Air owners through the Lucid OS 2.7.0 OTA update in June 2025. UX 3.0 expands the display view; it does not introduce Android Auto to the Air for the first time. Lucid’s June 16, 2025 announcement says Android phones running version 11 or higher can connect wirelessly. Wired Android Auto requires a compatible USB cable; check your phone’s connector before selecting one.
