Both are described as 125cc-equivalent and share a 59 mph top speed, two removable batteries, and a claimed range of up to 53 miles under WMTC testing. LiveWire announced production in June 2026, but that announcement is not confirmation that a particular dealer has stock.
What are the LiveWire S4 Honcho models?
The S4 Honcho is a compact electric mini-moto platform offered in two variants. LiveWire positions the S4 Honcho Trail for trail and off-road riding, while the S4 Honcho Street is intended for urban use. The company describes both as 125cc-equivalent motorcycles.
LiveWire first presented the models as concepts ahead of EICMA in October 2025. On June 9, 2026, it announced production commencement, saying production had begun in late May. That is a manufacturer announcement, not independent evidence of retail inventory or customer deliveries.
How do the Trail and Street compare?
The announced differences most relevant to a buyer are price, seat height, weight, warranty, and intended use. Figures below come from LiveWire’s June 9, 2026 production announcement; they are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent test results.

Which variant may suit you?
- Trail: The company’s off-road positioning and lower listed weight distinguish it from the Street. Its seat is one inch taller, and its announced MSRP is $500 lower.
- Street: LiveWire positions this version for urban riding. It has the lower seat, but is listed as 13 lb heavier and carries the higher announced MSRP; its stated warranty is one year longer.
These distinctions do not establish how either model performs on a particular trail or in city traffic. The published figures are not a substitute for a ride or an assessment of fit and local use requirements.
What are the shared performance, battery and range figures?
LiveWire lists a 59 mph top speed and approximately 3-second acceleration from 0 to 30 mph for both models. Each has two removable, swappable batteries with a combined capacity of 3.48 kWh.
The company gives two different range figures: up to 53 miles under WMTC and up to 73 miles at a constant 20 mph. These figures describe different conditions; the 73-mile number is not a mixed-use estimate. LiveWire says the WMTC estimate is based on a sample motorcycle under ideal laboratory conditions using the cited European test regulation. It warns that actual range can change with rider behavior, roads and driving conditions, weather, maintenance, tire pressure, vehicle configuration, and load.

LiveWire says charging from 20% to 80% takes approximately two hours on 110V. The announcement notes that charging time varies with grid and temperature conditions, so the stated time should not be treated as a universal result.

- Labor-saving Wrist Control: This motorcycle cruise control features a curved elbow bracket that firmly attached onto the throttle grip, providing a stable pivot point. The angled design aligns with your wrist’s natural motion, so you can maintain or increase speed without constantly twisting
- Universal Heart-Button Fit: The motorcycle lock utilizes a upgraded adjustment system: pressing the heart-shaped button allows the inner diameter to expand from 1.18 to 1.57 inches, making it compatible with most motorcycle and e-scooter throttles. This keeps a snug, rattle-free fit without tools
- Stylish Contrast Design: This cruise control for motorcycle throttle comes in a sleek black barrel with eye-catching heart-shaped buttons that add a playful, personalized accent to your handlebars. The unique look appeals to riders who appreciate both cool aesthetics and a touch of whimsy
- Durable & Slip-Resistant ABS: Made from high-grade ABS with a frosted, anti-slip surface, this motorcycle throttle lock resists water, sun shine, and daily wear. The textured grip stays secure even in sweaty or wet conditions, giving you reliable control and long-lasting durability
- Effortless Long-Distance Relief: This throttle controller reduces the need to grip and twist the throttle continuously—simply set your desired speed and relax your hand. It avoids slow-down vehicle's speed gradually decreased and muscle strain, making highway cruising and extended trips much more comfortable
When will the S4 Honcho be available?
LiveWire’s June 9, 2026 announcement said first retail units were expected in summer 2026, with availability expanding through 2026 in supported markets. The announcement does not verify current stock at any specific retailer. LiveWire identifies authorized retail locations as its purchase route; check directly with a local authorized retailer for availability and final pricing.
What should buyers know about licensing?
LiveWire’s licensing descriptions have changed between announcements, so there is no safe universal conclusion from the marketing summaries alone. The October 28, 2025 announcement said the Street would qualify for A1 licenses in Europe and the UK and U.S. M-endorsement, and said the Trail did not require a license. The June 9, 2026 release instead described both models as qualifying for A1 licenses in Europe and the UK and standard U.S. motorcycle endorsements.
Licensing and road-use rules depend on jurisdiction and model homologation. Confirm requirements with the relevant local authority and verify the specifications and classification of the exact model offered in your market before riding on public roads.

LiveWire says KYMCO produces the S4 Honcho platform and describes the arrangement as combining KYMCO’s manufacturing expertise with Harley-Davidson’s international dealer network. That is the company’s stated rationale for the partnership; the announcement does not independently demonstrate the scale of future distribution.
LiveWire CEO Karim Donnez described the goal this way: “S4 Honcho is about opening up electric riding to a much broader audience.”
