Ducati’s 2026 international Panigale V4 R is close at 218 hp, while Kawasaki’s 2025 US Ninja ZX-10R is listed at 196.0 hp. Those figures come from different model years and markets, so they are useful for orientation—not a definitive apples-to-apples ranking of every liter-class superbike.
Published power figures for road-going superbikes
The table compares manufacturer-published specifications, with the model year, market and stated unit kept alongside each number. It is not a strict rank: the figures are not all from the same market or year, and Honda’s Japanese specification uses kilowatts and metric horsepower (PS), not US mechanical horsepower (hp).

Why there is no reliable complete ranking
A ranked list implies that every entry has been measured or specified on the same basis. The available manufacturer figures do not meet that standard: the specifications span different years and markets, and not every maker’s output is established here. They are published claims, not results from a shared independent test or a common dyno procedure.
- Market and model year matter. The Aprilia and Kawasaki figures above are for 2025 US models; Ducati’s is from a 2026 international page; Honda’s is a Japanese specification dated February 2024.
- Keep units distinct. Honda states 160 kW and 218 PS. That is not the same unit as the Aprilia, Ducati and Kawasaki hp figures. Converting units can make values easier to compare, but it does not resolve differences in model, market or measurement conditions.
- “Liter-class” is a category, not an exact displacement. The cited machines range from 998 cc to Aprilia’s 1,099 cc.
- Important entries remain unranked. The available BMW UK M 1000 RR technical-data text did not provide a power number, and comparable current figures for Yamaha YZF-R1 and Suzuki GSX-R1000/R were not established. A complete ranking that fills those gaps would require unsupported figures.
Standard output versus race configuration
Ducati’s 2026 international Panigale V4 R page gives 218 hp at 15,750 rpm for the standard specification and separately states up to 239 hp with a racing exhaust and specified performance oil. The 239 hp claim belongs to that stated race configuration; it should not be ranked as though it were the ordinary standard-specification output.

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R belongs in a separate category
Kawasaki lists 322 hp at 14,000 rpm for the 2026 US Ninja H2R. The manufacturer identifies it as a track-only motorcycle, so it is not a like-for-like road-going superbike entry. Kawasaki also says the H2R horsepower figure uses ISO 4106 and may differ from an SAE figure. Kawasaki’s 2026 H2R specification sheet and H2R model page give the relevant qualifications.

Maximum horsepower is only one point in an engine’s output curve, and the rpm attached to the peak matters: these published peaks occur between 11,500 and 15,750 rpm for the road-going examples above. The figures alone do not establish how quickly a motorcycle accelerates, how much power reaches the rear wheel, or which bike is fastest on a road or track. Those conclusions would require comparable testing and conditions that these specifications do not provide.
