Lexus presented two distinct visions at Japan Mobility Show 2025: the LS Coupe Concept, designed around “duality” between driver enjoyment and passenger comfort, and the Lexus Sport Concept, a low, wide two-door coupe centered on an immersive driver experience. Both were shown under Lexus’s broader “Discover” direction. The official materials describe design intent, not production-ready vehicles, and do not establish prices, sale dates, or technical specifications for either concept.
What Lexus presented at Japan Mobility Show 2025
Lexus announced its “Discover” brand direction on October 29, 2025, at the opening of Japan Mobility Show 2025. The show ran October 30 to November 9, 2025, according to the Lexus event page. Lexus said its flagship name LS would stand for “Luxury Space,” rather than “Luxury Sedan” or “Luxury SUV.” The LS Coupe Concept was one of several forward-looking concepts presented in that context.
The Sport Concept was not a first reveal at the show: Lexus had unveiled it in August at Pebble Beach, then included it in its wider Japan Mobility Show concept presentation. The concepts express different ideas within the “Discover” direction, which Lexus Europe described as extending the brand beyond cars to products, services, experiences, and lifestyles.
What is the LS Coupe Concept?
Lexus frames the LS Coupe Concept as “Discover Duality”: a vehicle intended to combine the space and luxury of an LS sedan, the styling and driver dynamics of an LC coupe, and the versatility of an SUV. The manufacturer describes a driver-focused cockpit, an elevated hip point intended to make entry easier, and comfort for four passengers. These are stated design aims; the official description does not provide vehicle dimensions or production specifications.

Passenger experience
Toyota Times reports that the concept’s rear seats face built-in monitors. The manufacturer article says passengers could use them to view scenery through a front-view camera, see the faces of front-seat occupants while talking, or consult a map to help choose the next destination. This is a description of the concept’s intended experience, not confirmation of production equipment.
At the October 29 briefing, Toyota Motor Corporation Chief Branding Officer Simon Humphries said, “And the LS Coupe Concept answers the wish to have the best of everything”. He added, “The ability to discover duality a car that is as fun for the driver as it is for the passenger.” The phrasing captures Lexus’s goal of balancing the driver’s experience with passenger comfort rather than prioritizing only one.

What is the Lexus Sport Concept?
Lexus describes the Sport Concept as a “next-generation coupe” intended to immerse its driver in a dynamic five-sense experience. Its stated shape is wide, low, and two-door, with performance-focused styling that brings together innovation and traditional sports-car character. The minimalist, functional cockpit is presented as supporting interaction between driver and car.
Humphries called it “a chance to discover complete immersion” and described it as “An experience that engages all the senses in ways never experienced before.” Those are Lexus positioning statements, not measured claims about driving or sensory performance. The concept description does not disclose a powertrain, output, range, acceleration, or dimensions.

Are either of the concepts confirmed for production?
The official materials cited here do not establish a production commitment, sale date, price, or powertrain for either the LS Coupe Concept or the Sport Concept. Their descriptions should be read as Lexus’s design direction, not as specifications for upcoming showroom models.
The LS Coupe Concept is also distinct from the separate six-wheel LS Concept shown at the event, as well as the single-occupant LS Micro Concept. Lexus Europe described the six-wheel LS Concept as a chauffeur-driven personal sanctuary, and Toyota Times reported a comment from that concept’s chief engineer about working toward commercial release. That statement concerns the separate LS Concept; it does not confirm production plans for the LS Coupe Concept or Sport Concept.

Why Lexus presented them under “Discover”
Lexus’s “Discover” direction broadens its brand story from vehicles toward the ways customers use their time, space, and experiences. The two concepts give that idea different automotive expressions: the LS Coupe Concept imagines a shared luxury space that serves driver and passengers, while the Sport Concept puts the driver’s engagement at the center. They are complementary design statements, not a conventional comparison between two production models in the same segment.
