Launch-era reports credited it with 512 bhp, a 275 km/h top speed, about 500 km of range and a roughly 20-minute recharge—but those were project figures, not independently verified production-car results. The available reporting describes a prototype or design study; it does not establish that the Quant entered production.
What was the Koenigsegg Quant?
Koenigsegg and Swiss solar-technology company NLV Solar AG presented the Quant in 2009 as a four-seat electric-car concept. The Koenigsegg Registry lists it as a 2009 concept prototype and identifies the partnership, while contemporaneous coverage described it as a prototype shown at the Geneva show. Koenigsegg Registry · Auto Bild, March 4, 2009
At the time, Auto Bild reported that a series version was anticipated. That was a launch-era expectation, not evidence that production later began. Top Gear’s March 6, 2009 account characterized the Quant as a design study and said it might never be built. The sources cited here do not resolve the project’s subsequent history. What performance did reports claim?
Contemporary coverage attributed the following headline figures to the Quant. They should be read as reported concept specifications: the sources do not establish independent testing or a production-car specification.

How was the solar-electric system supposed to work?
The concept paired electric propulsion with a thin photovoltaic film coating over the body. Its proposed energy-storage technology was called Flow Accumulator Energy Storage, or FAES. Contemporary accounts also described regenerative braking as a way to recover energy while slowing down. The cited reports do not provide independently validated system specifications or test results.
New Atlas described two AC induction motors. Auto Bild and New Atlas reported a projected range of around 500 km and a recharge time of about 20 minutes. Those figures were claims for the concept, not results tied to a stated test procedure. The available accounts do not establish how much usable energy the solar coating could contribute or the conditions behind the range and recharge estimates. New Atlas · Auto Bild · Car Body Design

Was the Koenigsegg Quant ever built?
The cited material does not establish a production Quant or confirm what happened to the project after its 2009 presentation. Auto Bild’s report of an expected series version records an expectation at the time; Top Gear’s description of a design study records contemporary skepticism. Neither settles the car’s later status.
Likewise, the sources reviewed do not establish Quant-specific retail parts, accessories, books or collectibles. The evidence supports describing the Quant as a 2009 solar-electric concept, not presenting it as a production model or implying that general-purpose products are made for it.
