Yes—Kia America designated the 2025 model year as the Kia Soul’s last in the United States. When it announced the decision on October 6, 2025, Kia said production was expected to end that October. A later Kia sales report showed zero U.S. Soul sales in August 2026, but sales figures do not establish whether any new-old-stock vehicles remain at dealers or confirm the model’s status worldwide.

Can you still buy a Kia Soul?
Possibly, but current dealer availability cannot be determined from the sales figures. At the time of its October 2025 announcement, Kia said only a few thousand units remained at U.S. dealers; that was a dated inventory snapshot, not a current count. In Kia America’s report for August 2026, the Soul recorded zero U.S. sales for the month and 3,480 sales year to date, compared with 5,548 in August 2025 and 36,339 year to date through August 2025. For a new Soul, check with local Kia dealers about any unsold inventory and verify the model year, trim, price, and warranty terms directly. Used Souls may also be available through dealers and private sellers; availability and condition vary by location and vehicle.

Why did the Soul matter to Kia?
Kia America said more than 1.5 million Souls had been sold in the United States since 2009 by the time of its 2025 retirement announcement. That figure is the company’s reported cumulative U.S. sales total. Kia’s announcement
Eric Watson, Kia America’s vice president of sales, described the Soul as “one of the cornerstones in Kia gaining a foothold in the United States,” adding that the vehicle and its marketing helped Kia reach its present position. That is Watson’s assessment of the model’s contribution, rather than an independently measured causal finding.

The hamsters became part of its identity
The Soul’s hamster advertising became a distinctive part of its public image. Kia’s announcement lists a 2011 Gold Effie in North America for the campaign and a 2011 Nielsen Automotive Advertising Award for Automotive Ad of the Year (Hamsters). Those award details are as reported by Kia.
Is there an official replacement for the Soul?
Kia’s retirement announcement did not name a direct replacement or successor. Buyers considering another small vehicle should compare the specific models and model years available to them rather than assume another Kia is the Soul’s official successor. Practical points to check include price and local stock, passenger and cargo space, fuel economy and powertrain, safety equipment, warranty coverage, and service and parts availability.
