In February 2025, reports described some Jeep infotainment systems displaying pop-up promotions for extended vehicle coverage. The headline claim that every stop sign is an advertising opportunity is not literal: the coverage centered on an individual owner’s complaint and an unspecified number of affected vehicles, not a system-wide count or a current finding.
What the Jeep pop-up was—and wasn’t
The reports concerned promotions on an in-vehicle infotainment display, not advertising on roadside stop signs. TechSpot recounted a 2022 Grand Cherokee owner’s post about a full-screen message promoting extended coverage. Futurism identified the offer as Mopar “FlexCare Extended Care Premium.” The coverage does not establish that this offer is currently available or that its reported terms remain in effect. TechSpot’s February 11, 2025 report; Futurism’s February 14, 2025 report.
Futurism said the owner reported having passed 36,000 miles, which the pop-up reportedly presented as the offer’s mileage limit. That is the owner’s account of the message, not confirmation of a current Mopar coverage rule or eligibility threshold. Futurism.
Why did the message reportedly return at stops?
The complaint described the promotion returning when the vehicle stopped. TechSpot reported that a Jeep spokesperson characterized the missing instant opt-out as a temporary software glitch in a few isolated cases and said an over-the-air patch had fixed it. That is TechSpot’s account of a spokesperson’s statement; no official patch notes or present-day confirmation were identified in the reporting. TechSpot.

The available coverage does not say how many vehicles were affected, whether the problem persisted after the reported patch, or which models or software versions were involved beyond the owner’s 2022 Grand Cherokee. It does not support the claim that all Jeeps show ads at stop signs.
What can Jeep owners do?
Check for vehicle software updates
Because the reported explanation was a software glitch and the spokesperson said an over-the-air patch addressed it, check the vehicle’s available update information or contact a Jeep dealer for guidance specific to the vehicle. The reports do not provide an update number or a verified method for confirming that a particular Jeep received the patch.

Look for an in-vehicle notification setting
Futurism reported that The Drive had identified a Jeep Connect setting to disable in-vehicle notifications. The current menu path, availability by model, and effect on a particular vehicle have not been verified. If the setting is present, consult the owner’s manual or Jeep support before changing it; do not assume that disabling notifications will affect every promotional message. Futurism.
If the pop-up keeps appearing
Note the model year, infotainment software version if shown, when the message appears, and whether an opt-out is available. Share those details with Jeep customer support or a dealer and ask whether the vehicle has the reported update and whether its notification controls apply. The 2025 reports do not establish which remedy currently works for a specific Jeep.

Is this a broader Stellantis advertising practice?
MotorBiscuit separately reported that some Dodge owners could see a “Dodge Complete Performance Package” pop-up after 60 days of ownership. That is a distinct secondary report about a different brand and offer; it is not evidence that the Jeep promotion appeared on all Stellantis vehicles or that the Jeep issue had the same trigger. MotorBiscuit’s February 25, 2025 report.

A Center for Auto Safety podcast transcript includes an advocate describing an ad obscuring a map while stopped and arguing that such notifications may distract drivers. That is advocacy commentary, not a measured distraction rate, crash-risk estimate, or regulator finding. The available sources do not quantify any safety effect.
