As of October 4, 2026, Audi’s official model archive does not confirm a new A7. It labels the A7 a previous model through 2025 and names the Audi A6 as its successor. No new-A7 design, release date, price, engine or availability is established by the official sources covered here.
What Audi has confirmed about the A7
Audi’s A7 model archive is headed “Audi A7 (until 2025).” It lists the A7 Sportback, A7 Sportback TFSI e, S7 Sportback TDI and RS 7 Sportback as previous models. The same archive directs visitors to the current Audi A6 models as the successor to the A7.

That is the confirmed model-line update: Audi’s archive identifies the A6 as the A7’s successor. It does not confirm a new A7 or provide specifications for one.
Has Audi announced a new A7 or a return date?
The official materials cited here do not announce a new A7, set a launch date or confirm that Audi plans to bring the nameplate back. Audi’s March 17, 2026 CEO media release discusses other model initiatives, including the Q9 and A2 e-tron, but does not announce an A7. That release alone cannot establish that no announcement has been made elsewhere.

Accordingly, claims about a new A7’s appearance, powertrain, price or market availability should be treated as unconfirmed unless backed by a newer, direct Audi announcement. The materials cited here do not establish Audi’s exhaustive global announcement history.
What the older A7 specifications tell us—and what they don’t
Audi’s facts page, dated April 24, 2025, documents the earlier A7 Sportback. Its figures are useful as previous-model context, not as specifications for a future A7. Audi notes that the German model-range details may change and that fuel-consumption and emissions figures depend on wheel and tire setup.

How to assess claims about a “new Audi A7”
- Look for a direct Audi announcement. A date, price, design or powertrain attributed to a new A7 needs support from a current Audi source, not from prior-model specifications.
- Check the model year and market. Audi’s 2025 facts page covers German model-range information and warns that details may change; it is not a current global availability or pricing guide.
- Distinguish successor from revival. Audi’s archive calls the A6 the A7’s successor. That does not, by itself, confirm or rule out a future return of the A7 name.
