These are front-engine Porsche models, but neither is a 911. The Cayenne’s combined figures also describe its hybrid powertrain, not the V8 engine alone.
What engine does the 911 Carrera S use?
In Evo’s April 2026 comparison, the Porsche 911 Carrera S is listed with a 2,981cc twin-turbo flat-six rated at 473bhp and 391lb-ft. That is a six-cylinder engine, not a V8. The comparison concerns the publication’s tested UK-market cars, so its specifications should not be treated as universal figures for every model year or market.

Which front-engine twin-turbo V8 sports car was compared with the 911?
The other car in Evo’s comparison was the Mercedes-AMG GT55 4Matic+, listed with a 3,982cc twin-turbo V8 producing 469bhp and 516lb-ft. Evo’s April 2026 comparison presented it alongside the 911 Carrera S, making it a plausible source of confusion around the headline: the AMG is the front-engine twin-turbo V8 in that pairing, while the Porsche is the twin-turbo flat-six.
