No evidence here supports a worldwide discontinuation of the Yamaha MT-10. Yamaha lists a 2026 MT-10 in the United States, and its Japan site lists the MT-10 and MT-10 SP with 2025 release dates. Europe is less certain: country-specific sources show the bike in listings, but they do not establish a Europe-wide continuation decision or guarantee that a dealer can order one.
Is the Yamaha MT-10 discontinued?
Not worldwide, based on Yamaha’s current regional listings checked on October 8, 2026. Yamaha Motorsports’ US site lists a 2026 MT-10, while Yamaha Japan lists the MT-10 and MT-10 SP with release dates in 2025. These listings show that the model remains in those markets’ published lineups; they do not guarantee physical stock or availability in every country.
The MT-10 is Yamaha’s flagship in the MT series. Yamaha says the model debuted in 2015 and draws on the YZF-R1’s frame and crossplane four-cylinder lineage, adapted for the MT family’s torquey, agile character. Yamaha’s MT series history describes that positioning.

These records cannot be treated as interchangeable: a US model-year listing, a Japanese release date, a Slovak distributor price document and a Hungarian brochure answer different questions. None alone establishes an official Europe-wide decision.

Could Euro 5+ regulations be ending the MT-10?
The sources do not confirm that Euro 5+ rules are the reason for a discontinuation. Yamaha’s November 10, 2021 announcement said the 2022 MT-10 update’s engine was adapted for EU5 and planned for European release in February 2022. That historical announcement documents the earlier EU5 update; it does not explain the model’s later status or establish a decision related to Euro 5+.
The Slovakia distributor list identifies the listed MT-10 and MT-10 SP as EU5. That label should not be read as a definitive statement about whether a particular motorcycle can be newly registered in a specific country today. What the US 2026 specifications say
For the US-market 2026 MT-10, Yamaha lists a 998 cc liquid-cooled DOHC inline four-cylinder engine, a six-speed transmission, ABS, estimated fuel economy of 36 mpg and wet weight of 467 lb. These are manufacturer specifications for that market and model year, not figures to assume for every regional version. - Find your national Yamaha site or distributor. Look for the MT-10 and MT-10 SP in the current local lineup, and note the listed model year. A brochure or price list is a lineup signal, not confirmation that a dealer has a bike.
- Ask a local authorized dealer about orderability and stock. Confirm whether the exact version is available to order, already in inventory, or only listed in older materials. For Japan, Yamaha says retailer stock and delivery lead times vary.
- Confirm registration eligibility and the full price. Ask whether the specific motorcycle can be registered in your jurisdiction and request a current, itemized quote. Do not assume a price from another country or a published list includes every charge.
For Slovakia, the 2026 distributor list gives €15,990 including VAT for the MT-10 and €18,890 including VAT for the MT-10 SP. Those are listed Slovak prices, not universal prices or proof of current stock; verify them with a local dealer.
