Suzuki positions the GSX-S1000GT as a sport-tourer that pairs GSX-R-derived performance with equipment intended for longer rides. The manufacturer’s specifications make it a clearly defined option, but they do not prove that it is more comfortable, faster, or more reliable than another motorcycle. Here is what the U.S. 2025 GSX-S1000GT+ offers—and what to verify before buying.
What kind of motorcycle is the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT?
Suzuki describes the GSX-S1000GT as a sport-touring motorcycle, combining a sport-oriented platform with features aimed at long-distance riding. Its U.S. 2025 product page calls the GT+ a machine with “sportbike DNA” and “next-level comfort”; those phrases describe Suzuki’s positioning, not an independent comfort or performance assessment. The name also varies by market: the U.S. model is called GSX-S1000GT+, while Suzuki Japan uses GSX-S1000GT.
That distinction matters when comparing specifications, equipment, or prices. A model name, included accessory, or price shown for one country should not be assumed to apply elsewhere.
What does the 2025 U.S. GSX-S1000GT+ include?
Suzuki Motor USA lists the 2025 GT+ with a 999cc liquid-cooled DOHC inline-four engine, a six-speed transmission, ride-by-wire throttle, and ABS-equipped brakes. These are published specifications; they are not independent measurements of acceleration, braking, or road performance.

Rider aids and touring features
Suzuki’s 2025 materials document Smart Cruise Control, bidirectional quick shifting, selectable power modes, and traction control. Suzuki says Smart Cruise Control continues operating while the rider uses the bidirectional quick shifter, describing this as a way to make the GT easier to operate on long rides. That is the manufacturer’s stated benefit rather than a verified real-world comfort finding.
Dimensions and fuel capacity
For the 2025 U.S. model, Suzuki publishes a 19.0 L (5.0 U.S. gal.) fuel capacity, an 810 mm (31.9 in.) seat height, and a 226 kg (498 lb.) curb weight. Suzuki notes that the published width and curb-weight dimensions exclude mounted side cases. Seat height and curb weight can help you assess fit and handling expectations, but they do not establish how the motorcycle will feel to a particular rider.

Check the display specification by model year and market
Suzuki’s U.S. 2025 product page lists a 6.5-inch TFT display. By contrast, Suzuki’s 2026 brochure material describes a 5-inch screen. These are different claims in different model-year materials, so they should not be blended into one timeless specification. If display size or connected features matter to your decision, verify the exact year and market on the current official product page or brochure for the bike you are considering.
What luggage and touring accessories are listed?
Suzuki’s U.S. accessory catalog lists a touring screen, side-case set and brackets, heated grips, and tank bags for the GSX-S1000GT range. The catalog indicates the touring screen, side-case set, brackets, and heated grip set are listed for 2022–2026, but catalog fitment does not guarantee current stock or availability. Confirm the exact accessory’s compatibility with your model year and the dealer’s current listing before ordering.

Suzuki Japan lists a manufacturer suggested price of ¥1,683,000, including 10% consumption tax, for the GSX-S1000GT. Suzuki describes it as a reference price and notes dealer prices may vary. It is a Japan-market figure retrieved in 2026; it is not directly comparable with the U.S. MSRP without accounting for exchange rates, local taxes, and pricing conventions.
What to verify before choosing one
- Market and model year: Confirm whether the listing is for a U.S. GSX-S1000GT+ or another market’s GSX-S1000GT.
- Display and equipment: Check the official specification for the exact year; the 2025 and 2026 display claims differ.
- Fit and luggage: Consider the published seat height and curb weight, and confirm side-case and accessory fitment for the specific motorcycle.
- Price: Ask the dealer for current inventory, incentives, destination charges, and the complete out-the-door figure.
The available manufacturer material establishes the bike’s configuration and Suzuki’s intended sport-touring role. It does not establish comparative comfort, reliability, or superiority over a particular rival, so those questions require evidence beyond the published specifications.
