That does not make every Acty a perfect farm truck—or automatically legal for U.S. road use. The truck was discontinued in 2021, and its specifications and import eligibility depend on the exact vehicle.
Why the Acty ATTACK was built for farm work
Honda’s 2021 Acty Truck lineup included TOWN, SDX, ATTACK, and STD trims, with two- and four-wheel drive depending on configuration. The ATTACK was the agricultural 4WD model. Honda paired a five-speed manual transmission with ultra-low and ultra-reverse gearing, and a rear differential lock.
Honda describes the ATTACK as an agricultural 4WD especially suited to fields. The ultra-low gear is intended to let the truck move very slowly over difficult ground and hills; Honda says the rear differential lock can help it get moving again if wheels spin in mud, snow, or sand when used with the low-speed gearing. Those are descriptions of intended function, not independent proof of performance on a particular farm. Honda’s Acty Truck performance page explains the ATTACK equipment.
Is a Honda Acty a good farm truck?
It may suit specific light-duty jobs, particularly where a compact vehicle and slow-speed 4WD operation are useful. Whether it is right for a given farm depends on the work and on the individual truck—not just the nameplate or ATTACK badge.

- Traction and terrain: Confirm the exact truck’s drivetrain and whether it has the ATTACK’s low-speed gears and rear differential lock. Do not assume another trim has the same equipment.
- Load and task: Verify payload and other limits for the specific year and configuration, then compare them with what you need to carry or tow. The specifications cited here do not establish a payload figure.
- Fit and condition: Check cab fit, mechanical condition, and safety equipment in person where possible. An older imported truck’s condition matters as much as its original equipment.
- Parts and service: Establish how you will source parts and service for the specific chassis and configuration before relying on it for regular work.
- Where it will operate: Private-property use and public-road use raise different questions; import compliance and state rules need checking before purchase.
Horsepower depends on the exact Acty
“52 hp” should not be treated as a universal Acty specification. Honda’s page for the final-generation truck lists maximum output as 33 kW / 45 PS at 5,500 rpm. A separate 2026 Honda-Tech article describes the Acty as a 52-horsepower truck, but its available excerpt does not identify the year, engine, or market for that figure. Without a specific configuration and a suitable primary specification, the figure cannot be applied to every Acty. Honda’s final-generation performance specifications identify the 33 kW / 45 PS figure.
Bed dimensions vary by generation
For the 2009–2015 Acty Truck, Honda published a cargo bed measuring 1,940 mm long by 1,410 mm wide, with a gate that opens on three sides. These measurements apply to that generation’s published specification; they are not dimensions guaranteed for every Acty year. The Acty is discontinued
Honda’s archive records Acty Truck generations through April 2021; the final generation ran from March 2015 to April 2021. The Acty is therefore a used-vehicle decision, and equipment and specifications differ across generations. Honda’s Acty Truck archive lists the model history.

Honda’s agricultural design does not establish that a particular Acty can be imported, titled, registered, or driven on public roads in the United States. EPA requirements address emissions compliance, while NHTSA requirements address federal motor vehicle safety standards. The applicable route depends on the exact vehicle’s age and compliance status; state titling, inspection, registration, and operating rules also vary.

The EPA says importing a vehicle or engine that does not conform to U.S. emissions requirements is prohibited unless a qualifying route applies. Options described by the agency can include modification, testing, and certification by an Independent Commercial Importer or certain exemptions. A provision exists for vehicles over 21 years old, subject to engine-equivalence requirements. NHTSA separately says a nonconforming vehicle generally cannot be permanently imported unless it qualifies through an applicable eligibility or registered-importer route, or an age-based exception. Review the requirements for the exact truck with the agencies and the relevant state before purchase: EPA vehicle and engine import requirements and NHTSA vehicle import guidance.
For vehicles not manufactured to meet U.S. safety standards, NHTSA has stated: “Because these vehicles are not manufactured to meet U.S. safety standards, NHTSA cannot endorse their use on public highways.” That is a safety caution, not a determination of the status of a particular truck.
