Harley-Davidson’s U.S. model page describes a powerful, heavy cruiser with updated equipment, but it provides no long-term reliability study, failure rate, or service-life figure. Here’s what the specifications do establish—and what they don’t.
What the 2025 Fat Boy is
For the U.S. market, Harley-Davidson lists the 2025 Fat Boy as a cruiser powered by the Milwaukee-Eight 117 Custom V-twin. The manufacturer’s 2025 Fat Boy model page highlights a retuned rear monoshock, a two-into-two exhaust, selectable Road, Rain, and Sport modes, a five-inch analog/LCD display, and USB-C charging. These are manufacturer feature descriptions, not independent test results.
Power, size, and fuel
Harley-Davidson’s U.S. specifications list 117 cu in of displacement, 104 hp at 4,800 rpm, and 126 ft-lb of torque at 3,000 rpm. The listed running-order weight is 694 lb, with a 25.9-inch laden seat height and a five-gallon fuel tank. Harley-Davidson estimates city/highway fuel economy at 47 mpg. These are manufacturer figures for the U.S. model; the published page does not separately state a publication date for the specifications.
Rider-assistance equipment
The listed equipment includes ABS, traction control, drag-torque slip control, tire-pressure monitoring, and cornering versions of relevant controls. Their presence describes the motorcycle’s equipment; it does not establish independently measured safety outcomes or reliability.

Does the evidence show that the Fat Boy is durable?
No. Harley-Davidson’s official product information does not provide a reliability study, failure-rate figure, long-term ownership report, or proven service-life number for the 2025 Fat Boy. Descriptions of strength, stability, highway cruising, and the model’s history are manufacturer language—not evidence that a particular motorcycle will last a specified number of miles or years.
The manufacturer says the updated monoshock is “more comfortable while still firm and composed during aggressive riding.” That is Harley-Davidson’s claim on its product page, not independent rider feedback or a durability test.

What to know before replacing the tires
Harley-Davidson specifies Michelin Scorcher 11 tires in different sizes for the two wheel positions. A replacement search should identify the right tire for the front or rear and confirm the specified rating and fitment; one listing should not be assumed to cover both.
| Position | Specified tire |
|---|---|
| Front | Michelin Scorcher 11, 160/60R18 70V |
| Rear | Michelin Scorcher 11, 240/40R18 79V |
For a search, use the full size and position—for example, “Michelin Scorcher 11 160/60R18 motorcycle tire” for the front size—and verify fitment with the seller or a qualified service provider. Availability on Amazon was not verified.

What the specifications mean for ownership
The listed 694-lb running-order weight and 25.9-inch laden seat height are practical considerations when maneuvering, parking, and choosing a motorcycle that fits the rider. The figures do not by themselves determine comfort or ease of handling; those depend on the rider and conditions.
The official page links to owner manuals, maintenance schedules, and authorized service, but its manual result was inaccessible when checked. No maintenance interval or service procedure can be established from that result here. Consult the current owner’s manual for the specific motorcycle or contact an authorized Harley-Davidson service department.

Bottom line on the “unkillable” claim
The 2025 Fat Boy’s published specifications describe a 117-cu-in cruiser with substantial listed torque, modern rider-assistance features, and clearly specified tires. They do not prove that the motorcycle is unkillable, establish its long-term reliability, or guarantee a service life. Treat durability as a question the available official product information does not answer.
