That can help, but it does not make every local lease “super affordable”: one Bakersfield dealer’s current example is $590.42 per month for 36 months, with $5,416.42 due at signing. Compare the full cost and mileage terms—not just the monthly payment—before deciding.
What Volkswagen’s current ID.4 offer includes
Volkswagen of America lists a $6,000 customer bonus on a new, unused 2026 ID.4 leased or purchased through a participating U.S. dealer from September 1 through November 2, 2026. The bonus is applied toward the lease or purchase, is not redeemable for cash, and is unavailable on Fleet or Dealership Sale Program vehicles. Confirm that your chosen vehicle and dealer qualify, and that the offer is still available when you request a quote. Volkswagen’s U.S. offers page provides the program terms.
The same page lists a $12,500 bonus for new, unused 2025 ID.4 inventory through November 2, 2026, while describing that inventory as very limited. Treat it as a possibility to verify locally, not proof that a 2025 is available or that a particular vehicle qualifies.
What a current dealer lease example actually costs
A Volkswagen Bakersfield listing for a 2026 ID.4 Pro, with a stated MSRP of $48,265, advertises $590.42 per month for 36 months and $5,416.42 due at signing. The listed due-at-signing amount includes the first payment and $4,826 down; the listing says there is no security deposit. It gives an adjusted capitalized cost of $34,760 and a 7,500-mile annual allowance. This is one dealer’s offer, accessed October 8, 2026—not a national quote or a guarantee of eligibility. At the advertised figures, 36 monthly payments total $21,255.12. Adding the stated $5,416.42 due at signing brings scheduled cash outlay to $26,671.54 over the lease term, before costs the listing excludes or calculates separately. The listing says taxes, title, registration, license, other government fees, and finance charges are excluded or calculated at signing. It also says the offer is for well-qualified buyers, is subject to prior sale, and assigns maintenance responsibility to the lessee. The listed purchase option is $22,114.25; possible disposition fees and other lease-end terms should be checked in the written contract.
How to judge whether your quote is affordable
Compare offers using the total scheduled payments plus all cash due at signing, not the monthly figure by itself. Ask the dealer to quote the same term and mileage allowance you are considering, and to show the incentive as a separate line item. Get the following details in writing:

- Total due at signing, including the first payment, down payment, taxes, and fees.
- Lease length, annual mileage allowance, and charge for each excess mile.
- Which acquisition, dealer, title, registration, and other fees are included or excluded.
- Credit or other eligibility assumptions behind the advertised payment.
- Disposition fee, vehicle-condition rules, and purchase option at lease end.
For the Bakersfield example, the stated excess-mile charge is up to $0.20 per mile over 7,500 miles per year. That allowance may be a poor fit if you routinely drive farther: estimate your annual mileage before comparing payments, and ask how the applicable charge is treated in your contract. The offer also lists maintenance as the lessee’s responsibility.

Volkswagen lists the 2026 ID.4 with a starting MSRP of $45,095. Its model page gives EPA-estimated range of 291 miles for the Pro and Pro S, and 263 miles for the listed AWD Pro, AWD Pro S, and AWD Pro S Plus trims. Range varies by trim, so check the exact configuration on your quote rather than applying one figure to every ID.4. Volkswagen’s 2026 ID.4 model page has the trim and equipment information.

Volkswagen also lists a two-year Electrify America Pass+ membership with Plug&Charge for new 2026 ID.4 vehicles, subject to account, enrollment, and other program terms. The page specifies the plan for vehicles purchased from an authorized U.S.-based Volkswagen dealer; it does not establish that a lessee receives the same benefit. Ask the dealer to confirm the applicable terms for your transaction.
For compatible ID.4 vehicles, Volkswagen says Tesla Supercharger access requires a Volkswagen-approved NACS adapter, sold separately. The adapter is for compatible DC chargers only; Volkswagen warns not to use it with Level 1 or Level 2 AC chargers, including home chargers. It is an optional charging accessory, not a required cost for every driver.

- Ask a participating dealer whether the specific new, unused vehicle qualifies for the current $6,000 bonus and whether it remains available.
- Request an itemized written quote for your location, including the negotiated capitalized cost, incentive, mileage allowance, all due-at-signing amounts, and fees.
- Calculate the full scheduled cost for the term, then account for any excluded taxes or fees and your likely mileage.
- Read the lease contract for excess-mile charges, maintenance duties, disposition and condition terms, and the end-of-lease purchase option.
