Infinite Machine announced a seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz’s American Dynamism fund on October 29, 2024, to accelerate production and launch of its P1 electric scooter in the United States. The company put the round at $9.3 million; TechCrunch and company counsel Fenwick reported $9 million. The financing was intended to support the P1’s rollout—not a consumer subsidy or an acquisition.
What Infinite Machine announced in October 2024
New York-based Infinite Machine, founded by brothers Joseph and Eddie Cohen, said it had closed a seed round led by a16z’s American Dynamism fund. The company’s announcement named Adjacent Capital, Necessary Ventures, Otherwise Fund, founders of Reformation, Replit and Hugging Face, and Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg through Rosberg Ventures as additional participants. Infinite Machine announced $9.3 million; TechCrunch reported $9 million, as did Fenwick, the company’s counsel. The figures should remain attributed to those sources rather than treated as a single confirmed total.
The stated use of the money was to speed up P1 production and its market launch. Infinite Machine said in 2024 that deliveries would begin in 2025; that was a forecast at the time, not confirmation that deliveries began on that schedule.
What the P1 is—and what it costs now
Infinite Machine calls the P1 a reimagined electric seated scooter and describes its broader mission as building “the best non-cars on earth.” It is a two-passenger electric two-wheeler aimed at urban travel, rather than a conventional stand-up kick scooter. The company’s current P1 page lists a price of $7,995, a manufacturer-stated top speed of 65 mph and an estimated 60-mile range for real-world city riding, as checked October 8, 2026.

The changing price and speed are date-specific company claims, not evidence that the 2024 launch edition had the current price or performance. The 2023 launch announcement described a $10,000 starting MSRP, 55 mph top speed, 60-mile city range and an estimated 12–18-month shipping window; those were the company’s launch-era figures, not present-day availability terms. The sales strategy behind the funding
TechCrunch reported that Infinite Machine planned to sell directly and begin on a small scale, including hand-delivering vehicles rather than immediately outsourcing delivery and logistics. Joseph Cohen also told TechCrunch that the failures and restructuring of other electric two-wheeler companies had created useful lessons and infrastructure for a new entrant. Those are the founders’ strategy and views as reported in 2024, not proof that the category is now easy to enter or that the P1 will succeed.
The pitch is clear: a design-forward, connected electric vehicle positioned as an alternative to some urban car trips and conventional scooters. That positioning also makes the purchase decision different from choosing a low-cost commuter scooter. The listed price, claimed range and speed, local licensing rules, passenger needs, charging access and service arrangements all matter. The funding announcement showed that investors were backing the company’s attempt to bring this product to market; it did not establish independent validation of the scooter’s performance or consumer demand.
What the round means for U.S. buyers
For buyers, the practical significance is that Infinite Machine had capital earmarked to advance P1 production and launch, followed by a current company listing for orders and test rides as of October 8, 2026. The round itself does not promise a particular delivery date, price lock, service footprint or performance outcome. Check the company’s live product and order information, then verify local licensing and registration requirements before committing.
