What does the Comfort upgrade add?
In a UK road test published on 30 November 2025, Stuff’s Rob Clymo identifies the Comfort’s larger battery as the change that makes the Atto 2 more appealing. The review lists 64.8 kWh for the Comfort and a range of up to 267 miles, against 214 miles for the Boost. These are figures reported by Stuff, not an independently verified range-test result; real-world range will depend on conditions and use.
The practical appeal is the added buffer. If your regular driving is mostly local, you may rarely need it. But more stated range can make an unexpected detour or a longer trip easier to accommodate before planning a charge. The review does not establish how much extra range a driver will achieve in particular conditions.
How does it drive day to day?
In town
Clymo found the Atto 2 easy to drive and agile in tight spaces. He also highlights access, visibility and cabin practicality as useful for urban driving and small-family use. His summary was: “During my time with the bigger battery car, the BYD Atto 2 proved quite efficient, while it’s an absolute doddle to drive.” That is his road-test impression, not a standardized efficiency result.

On faster roads
The review describes a refined experience at sensible speeds, but notes wind noise and a less settled feel when the car is pushed, as well as a softer, less composed ride over rough roads at speed. Clymo says it is not especially suited to longer motorway runs. If frequent high-speed journeys are central to your driving, these caveats matter more than the extra range alone.
What are the cabin and practicality like?
Technology and controls
Stuff reports a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, wireless phone charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The screen takes the place of many physical buttons. Clymo found the interface busy and not always easy to use while driving, so the generous equipment comes with a usability trade-off.

Space and luggage
The review lists 450 litres of cargo volume and describes the boot as adequate rather than large. It may suit routine shopping and everyday family duties, but the review does not present it as a standout for luggage capacity. The reviewer also praises the cabin’s space, while judging the styling forgettable and noting strong competition in the segment.

Who should consider the Atto 2 Comfort?
The review gives the Comfort 4/5. Its case is strongest for drivers who want a compact electric SUV for city use and mixed everyday trips, value the larger stated range, and appreciate its cabin equipment. Drivers who regularly cover long motorway distances should weigh the reviewer’s noise and ride-composure criticisms alongside the range figure. Stuff mentions rivals including the Kia EV3, Citroën e-C3 Aircross, Vauxhall Frontera and Fiat Grande Panda, but its review does not provide a matched comparison test establishing that the Atto 2 is better than those alternatives.
The review concerns the fully electric Atto 2 Comfort in the UK. The Atto 2 DM-i is a separate plug-in hybrid, not another name for this battery-electric model.
