Will the 2027 Tucson have a plug-in hybrid in the U.S. or Canada?
There is no PHEV in the reported 2027 North American lineup. Hyundai’s 2027 U.S. launch page says the all-new Tucson and Tucson Hybrid are due in early 2027 but does not list a plug-in model. Has Hyundai ended the Tucson PHEV worldwide?
No. Hyundai Motor Group’s global description of the next-generation Tucson PHEV lists 292 PS and a targeted estimated all-electric range of 81 km. Those are global product figures, not confirmation that the PHEV will be sold in the United States or Canada. Hyundai’s global reveal also highlights its Art of Steel design philosophy and next-generation hybrid system, but does not provide a complete North American powertrain specification table.

Hyundai Motor Company’s October 1, 2026 global reveal described the new Tucson as “the best one we have ever built,” attributing the statement to the company rather than to an individual executive. A corporate claim is not an independent assessment of the vehicle.
What does the 2026 U.S. Tucson PHEV offer?
For buyers considering the outgoing model, Hyundai Motor America’s 2026 Tucson Plug-in Hybrid page lists these U.S. specifications. The figures are Hyundai’s published specifications and EPA estimates, not independent test results.

It depends on how you drive and what is actually available near you. A PHEV can be especially useful if you can charge regularly and your routine includes trips that suit its electric range; longer trips can still use the gas engine. The 2027 Tucson Hybrid is a different choice: it is a conventional hybrid, not a plug-in model, according to the reported North American lineup.
