Toyota also publishes a UK price for a 2024-model-year Mirai. These are confirmed market-specific options, not a complete worldwide inventory; the price figures use different currencies, tax rules and purchase terms.
Hydrogen cars available to consumers: prices and terms
The table separates retail listings from a lease offer and identifies the model year and price basis. Prices should not be treated as directly comparable across countries.

The confirmed offers above are limited to the named markets and terms. An industry list of fuel-cell models is not a consumer sales census: the Enagás report calls its examples non-exhaustive, and inclusion in its table does not establish that a private buyer can order each model today. What the available models offer
Toyota Mirai
The Mirai is a fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV): compressed hydrogen is stored onboard and converted with oxygen into electricity for an electric motor. Toyota calls it a plug-less EV; water is its only tailpipe emission, which describes tailpipe output rather than the vehicle’s full lifecycle emissions. The U.S. 2026 model’s 402-mile figure is an EPA estimate, not a guarantee of real-world distance. Toyota’s 2026 Mirai announcement

- The Hydrogen fuel trolley uses zinc particles and food grade citric acid to synthesize hydrogen, and then uses the produced hydrogen and air to generate electricity to drive the trolley.
- During the experiment, please use 80℃ hot water for Combination reaction (if the water temperature is low, the amount of hydrogen and air pressure from the Combination reaction are insufficient, the fuel cell cannot be used for power generation), and then take off the plug of the vent pipe at the lower part of the fuel cell, release the gas in the rubber hose immediately, and then plug it back immediately, so that only pure hydrogen and air are in the fuel cell, so that the fuel cell can generate hydrogen air power.
Hyundai NEXO
The new NEXO has documented consumer pricing in Japan and South Korea, but the figures use different currencies and are not interchangeable. In Japan, the stated CEV subsidy is a separate potential incentive rather than a guaranteed reduction for every buyer. Hyundai Europe has described the all-new NEXO, but the cited information does not establish country-by-country European ordering or pricing.
Honda CR-V e:FCEV
Unlike a hydrogen-only FCEV, the CR-V e:FCEV is a plug-in fuel-cell vehicle. It supports Level 1 or Level 2 charging and Honda gives approximately 29 miles of battery-powered range. Honda reports 61 city/52 highway/57 combined MPGe when operating on hydrogen alone; with hydrogen and the high-voltage battery combined, it reports 94 city/79 highway/87 combined MPGe. Why availability depends on where you live
A published price is only useful if you can refuel locally. Toyota directs prospective Mirai drivers to the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership station locator. Honda’s California lease eligibility depends on proximity to approved hydrogen stations in Northern and Southern California. Neither the cited manufacturer pages nor the station locator establish a complete, real-time global count, so check the current map and confirm that stations on your regular routes are operating before committing. - Search for a hydrogen station near home, work and regular travel routes.
- Check current operating status rather than relying only on a map listing.
- Confirm local eligibility and order availability directly with the relevant dealer.
Coming later: BMW iX5 Hydrogen
The BMW iX5 Hydrogen should not be counted as a currently purchasable consumer vehicle. BMW says series production is planned for 2028, and BMW Korea describes the vehicle as a prototype rather than a production model. BMW’s statement is a plan, not a guaranteed delivery date. BMW Group report
