How to watch the F1 haptic trailer on iPhone
- Use an iPhone running iOS 18.4 or later.
- Open the Apple TV app and find the F1 The Movie haptic trailer.
- Play it on the iPhone to experience the synchronized vibrations.
Apple identifies the iPhone and iOS version but does not publish a compatible-model list in the cited material. It also does not establish haptic playback on iPad, Android, desktop or television. The film itself is available through Apple TV, but that does not mean its haptic trailer works on every device that runs the Apple TV app. Apple’s App Store editorial calls it an experience designed specifically for iPhone and directs viewers to the Apple TV app on iOS 18.4 or later.
What the trailer’s haptic feedback adds
The trailer uses iPhone vibrations synchronized with what appears on screen. Apple says the sensations represent engine power, curbs and gear shifts, with sequences designed frame by frame around the trailer’s emotional beats and rhythm. Apple sums up the approach as “Every vibration serves the story.” These are Apple’s descriptions of the creative design, not independent measurements of how the effect performs.
Without the haptic effect, the trailer remains ordinary video playback: the same film promotion, but without the synchronized tactile element. Apple describes one iPhone-focused experience, not a set of competing versions.

How it connects to Brad Pitt’s F1 film
F1 The Movie stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former driver who returns to Formula 1, and Damson Idris as rookie Joshua Pearce, Hayes’s teammate at the fictional APXGP team. Joseph Kosinski directed the film. Apple’s film announcement says the story follows Hayes’s return and his pairing with Pearce at a struggling team.
Formula 1 says the movie was made in collaboration with the sport and filmed in real time during Grands Prix. That production context gives the trailer’s racing images their real-world setting; the haptic treatment is Apple’s additional presentation of the trailer on iPhone. Formula 1’s release announcement also describes the collaboration and production at races.

Trailer announcement and theatrical release dates
Apple unveiled the film’s trailer on March 13, 2025. That is the trailer announcement date, not a confirmed launch date for the haptic version: the official material cited here does not give a precise date for when the haptic trailer became available.
Apple’s March 13 announcement gave the theatrical release dates as June 25, 2025, internationally, and June 27, 2025, in North America. June 2025 therefore refers to the film’s cinema release window, not the date Apple announced the trailer.
