There is currently no confirmed free channel showing the full 2026 F1 Bahrain Grand Prix. In the United States, Apple TV has exclusive live Formula 1 rights, although eligible new subscribers may be able to watch through its seven-day free trial. In the UK and Ireland, Channel 4 offers free highlights rather than live coverage of this race.
There is also an important calendar update: the event scheduled for October 2–4, 2026 is set to take place at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, not Bahrain. Formula 1 says the arrangement remains subject to final agreements and approval from the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
Can you watch the full Bahrain Grand Prix for free?
Not through a confirmed, permanently free broadcast channel. The answer depends on your country, but the current rights information points to these options:
| Location | Live full race | Free option |
|---|---|---|
| United States | Apple TV subscription | Seven-day Apple TV trial for eligible new subscribers |
| United Kingdom and Ireland | Sky Sports | Channel 4 highlights after the event |
| Other countries | Local broadcaster listed by Formula 1 | Varies by territory |
Streaming availability can also depend on your location. A service that carries Formula 1 free in one country may be blocked elsewhere, so check Formula 1’s official broadcast information page before relying on a listing.

United States: use the Apple TV free trial
Apple TV is the exclusive U.S. broadcaster for Formula 1 in 2026. Its current price is $12.99 per month, but Apple offers a seven-day free trial to eligible new subscribers. That makes the race free to watch during the trial period, provided the offer is still available when the Grand Prix takes place.
This is a trial of a paid streaming service, not a free television channel. Apple requires a payment method, and the subscription can renew automatically when the trial ends.
How to claim the trial
- Open Apple’s Where to Watch Formula 1 page.
- Select Sign Up to Watch.
- On the Formula 1 page, choose Accept Free Trial.
- Confirm that your account is set to the United States and that the seven-day offer appears before completing registration.
- Watch in the Apple TV app or at tv.apple.com.
Apple TV supports web browsers, iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows, Android, Apple TV devices, compatible smart TVs, Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation and Xbox. Check the trial’s end date in your Apple account and cancel before renewal if you do not want to be charged.
Could Tubi show the Bahrain race?
Do not assume that it will. Apple has announced free, creator-hosted Formula 1 altcasts on Tubi for selected 2026 races. The Miami Grand Prix was identified as the launch event, but Bahrain has not been confirmed as one of the Tubi races.
Even if Tubi receives the event, an altcast may not be the same as the standard international Formula 1 broadcast. It can use a different presentation, commentary team and production format. Check Apple’s or Tubi’s event listing closer to the race weekend.
What is free in the United States?
Yahoo Sports: Yahoo Sports carries live practice and qualifying sessions in the U.S., but it has not been announced as a free live outlet for the Grand Prix itself.

Formula 1’s website and app: These provide schedules, timing, news and other official coverage, but the U.S. broadcast listing names Apple TV for the live race. They are not a separate free U.S. television stream of the full Grand Prix.
F1 TV: F1 TV should not be treated as a separate free alternative in the U.S. For 2026, F1 TV Premium is available through an Apple TV subscription and is included for Apple TV subscribers at no additional cost.

United Kingdom: Channel 4 shows highlights
Channel 4 is the main free option for UK viewers, but it does not provide live coverage of the Bahrain Grand Prix. Its agreement with Formula 1 provides free-to-air highlights of qualifying, Sprints and Grands Prix. Sky Sports retains live coverage of the sessions, apart from the separate free-to-air arrangement for the British Grand Prix.
That means Channel 4 is useful if you can watch after the race, but it is not the answer if you want to watch the Bahrain Grand Prix live for free.
Be careful with old viewing guides
Several previously accurate F1 streaming guides are now outdated for 2026. In particular:
- ESPN is not the current exclusive U.S. broadcaster. Apple TV replaced ESPN for the 2026 season.
- Channel 4 does not show every race live for free. Most of its F1 coverage is highlights.
- Tubi has not been confirmed for Bahrain. Its free races are selected individually.
- The venue is not currently Bahrain International Circuit. The announced 2026 replacement venue is Sepang International Circuit, subject to approval.
Avoid unofficial “free stream” websites. Apart from potential copyright issues, these sites commonly use aggressive pop-ups, fake play buttons, malicious downloads and streams that disappear during the race. A short official trial or a legitimate highlights broadcast is safer and more reliable.
