The race took place at Suzuka Circuit on Sunday, April 6, 2025. If you want to watch it now, start with the F1 TV archive, then check Apple TV’s F1 catalog and the free Formula 1 Channel for scheduled coverage. Availability depends on your country, and a highlights package is not the same as a complete race replay.
2025 Japanese Grand Prix: the quick answer
In the United States, ESPN carried the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix live. F1 TV Pro was also a live-streaming option in eligible territories during the 2025 season, subject to local broadcast rights.

Today, the best place to look for the full race is the F1 TV archive and replay catalog. F1 TV currently advertises delayed race replays and access to more than 650 historic races through its TV Access offering, although the specific event may not be available in every country. Apple TV’s current U.S. F1 service is primarily a destination for 2026 and later live coverage, so do not buy it solely for the 2025 Japanese GP without first confirming that a complete replay is listed.

How U.S. viewers watched it
ESPN
ESPN was the primary U.S. broadcaster for the 2025 race. Viewers could watch through a cable or satellite package carrying ESPN, or through a live-TV streaming service that included the channel at the time.
Rank #2
Streaming access required care: an article saying “watch on ESPN+” does not automatically mean that an ESPN+ subscription alone included the ESPN television race feed. Access could depend on an eligible TV-provider login or a package containing ESPN. ESPN’s original schedule is available here.
F1 TV Pro
During the 2025 season, F1 TV Pro offered live F1 coverage in selected markets. It was the more specialized option, potentially providing onboard cameras, team radio and live timing alongside the main feed.
F1 TV Pro was not available everywhere. A local broadcaster could hold exclusive rights, and availability, plan names and rights can change by season. Check the service for your country rather than assuming that a U.S. or European subscription will work elsewhere.

International broadcasters
Formula 1’s official broadcaster directory is the safest source for territory-specific information. For the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix, the main listed options included:
| Region | Broadcaster or service |
|---|---|
| United States | ESPN US and ESPN Deportes |
| United Kingdom and Ireland | Sky Sports F1 / Sky UK |
| Canada | RDS, RDS 2 and TSN-related coverage |
| Australia | Fox Sports, Foxtel and Kayo |
| Japan | DAZN Japan and Fuji TV |
| Latin America | ESPN, with availability varying by territory |
| Selected other countries | F1 TV Pro, where local rights permitted |
How to find the full replay now
- Search F1 TV first. Open the archive or replay area and search for “2025 Japanese Grand Prix,” “2025 Japan GP” or “Suzuka.” F1 TV says replay availability varies by territory. Its current U.S. TV Access price signal is $29.99 per year or $3.49 per month, as observed in August 2026.
- Check the exact event year. Catalogs may show the 2026 Japanese Grand Prix before the 2025 event, or group the content under “Japan” or “Suzuka.”
- Check Apple TV’s F1 section. Apple is now the U.S. home of live Formula 1 for the 2026 season and later. Apple says its F1 coverage includes full replays and highlights for races shown through the service, but the 2025 event should be verified in the catalog before subscribing.
- Check the Formula 1 Channel schedule. The free, ad-supported U.S. channel carries scheduled F1 programming, classic races and selected replay content. It is a possible free option, not a guarantee that the complete 2025 Japanese GP is available on demand.
- Use official highlights if no full replay is offered. Formula 1’s digital channels may provide short official clips or edited recaps.
F1 TV’s subscription information is at formula1.com/subscribe-to-f1-tv. Apple’s current F1 information is at tv.apple.com/us/info/watch-f1.
Full race replay versus highlights
| Format | What it contains | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Full race replay | The complete race broadcast or session | Watching the entire event |
| Highlights | Edited key moments and incidents | A quick catch-up |
| Race in 30 | A compressed recap | Short viewing |
| Notable Moments | An edited feature package | Storylines and major incidents |
Apple’s listing for the event includes a program titled “Japan GP: 2025 Notable Moments”. Its title indicates an edited package; do not treat it as the complete race unless the listing and playback contents explicitly confirm that.

Current U.S. services: which is the right fit?
F1 TV Access
F1 TV Access is the most logical current product to investigate if your goal is an archived 2025 race. It offers delayed replays, timing data, team-radio clips and historic archive material. It is not the live-race tier, and the specific replay may be restricted by country.
Apple TV
Apple TV is a better fit if you also want current U.S. F1 coverage. Apple’s Japanese GP listing showed a seven-day trial followed by $12.99 per month when observed in 2026, but prices and offers can change. It may be poor value for someone seeking only one old race, particularly if the catalog contains only a recap or highlights package.

Formula 1 Channel
The U.S. Formula 1 Channel is free and ad-supported. Formula 1 says it is distributed through services including Fubo, LG Channels, Plex, Pluto TV, Prime Video, Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel and VIDAA. Check each platform’s schedule; distribution does not prove that the complete 2025 Japanese GP is available permanently or on demand.

Devices and access checks
Official F1 and Apple services can generally be accessed through a web browser, mobile device, smart TV or streaming device, with Apple also listing support for consoles and Android devices. Exact device, feature and simultaneous-stream limits depend on the current plan and terms.
- Sign in before searching so the catalog reflects your subscription and country.
- Search for the event by year as well as by “Japan,” “Suzuka” and “Japanese Grand Prix.”
- Confirm that the title says race or full replay rather than highlights, “Race in 30” or “Notable Moments.”
- Check the account’s country and the service’s regional availability.
- If you want to avoid spoilers, search within the service rather than using general web results or social media.
A VPN should not be treated as an official or guaranteed solution. It can create rights, account, payment-region and reliability problems, and it may conflict with a service’s terms.
Bottom line for U.S. viewers
The 2025 Japanese Grand Prix originally aired on ESPN at the April 6, 2025 race weekend, with lights out at approximately 1:00 a.m. Eastern. That is historical information now. For a full replay, check F1 TV’s archive and confirm the event is available in your country. Check Apple TV only after confirming that its listing is a complete replay rather than the “Notable Moments” package, and check the free Formula 1 Channel before paying for a service you may use only once.
