Yes, a Harley-Davidson can be supercharged—but only with a kit verified for its exact model, year and engine. ProCharger lists kits for selected Touring, Softail and Dyna applications; those listings do not mean one kit fits every Harley. Before buying, confirm fitment, account for tuning and fuel-system parts, plan qualified installation, and check the road-use rules where you ride.

Can you supercharge a Harley-Davidson?

Yes. A supercharger is a real option for some Harley-Davidson motorcycles, but compatibility is application-specific. The model name alone is not enough: year and engine configuration matter, and a kit listed for one Touring model may not fit another year or engine. ProCharger lists selected Touring, Softail and Dyna applications; confirm the exact motorcycle on the manufacturer’s live fitment information before ordering.

One current example is ProCharger’s M8 Touring kit, part number 1BL600-XX. Its product page lists certain 117ci and 121ci Touring applications, including 2023 and newer CVO Street Glide and Road Glide models and 2024 and newer Street Glide and Road Glide models. These examples are not a universal fitment list; use the product page to check the exact model year and engine: ProCharger M8 Touring fitment and product details.

What Harley models can be supercharged?

There is no single answer for every year and engine. ProCharger identifies selected models in Touring, Softail and Dyna ranges, while its current M8 example is for specified Touring applications. The available information does not establish a complete, independently verified list covering every Harley model or another brand’s kits. Treat any broad claim that a kit fits a whole model family as incomplete until the manufacturer confirms your precise motorcycle.

How to supercharge your Harley-Davidson

  1. Identify the motorcycle precisely

Write down the model, model year and engine displacement or configuration. Use the motorcycle’s records or have a Harley-Davidson dealer confirm the engine details if they are uncertain. These details are necessary to check application-specific fitment.

  2. Confirm the kit and its contents

Check the manufacturer’s fitment listing for the exact model-year-engine combination, then verify the included parts and required options. For its current M8 Touring kit, ProCharger lists an air-to-air intercooler and dry-belt drive. It says the kit does not include injectors, tuning or fuel components; injectors and an AIM VP SDR clutch/spring kit are listed as options. Confirm the current package contents directly with the manufacturer, since product configurations can change.

  3. Plan installation and tuning before purchase

Determine who will install the kit and perform the required tuning, and ask what additional fuel-system parts, labor or clearance work your particular motorcycle may need. Harley-Davidson’s performance-kit instructions state: “Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit.” They direct installers to use the correct service manual and recommend dealer installation if the work exceeds their capability or available tools. See Harley-Davidson performance-kit installation instructions.

  4. Check road-use requirements for your location

Before purchase or installation, verify whether the precise kit and motorcycle combination is permitted for road use where you live and ride. Emissions certification and other requirements vary by product and jurisdiction; a general statement that a supercharger is road legal is not enough. Ask the manufacturer or authorized installer for applicable documentation and check the relevant local rules.

  5. Get a complete installed quote

Ask the shop to itemize the kit, tuning, fuel components, any selected options, installation labor and any custom fitting or clearance work. Compare quotes only after confirming they cover the same fitment and required work.

What does a Harley-Davidson supercharger kit include?

Contents vary by product and application, so distinguish the base kit from the parts and services needed to make the motorcycle run correctly. For the M8 Touring example, ProCharger describes an air-to-air intercooler and dry-belt design, but states that injectors, tuning and fuel components are not included. The manufacturer lists injectors and an AIM VP SDR clutch/spring kit as options. Confirm whether the specific configuration you are considering includes each item your installer says is needed.

Installation complexity can also vary. Harley-Davidson notes that labor and complexity may change when custom fitting or clearance measurements are required. A base-kit contents list is therefore not an installed build specification.

How much does it cost to supercharge a Harley?

ProCharger lists its current M8 Touring kit starting at $7,395. That is the manufacturer’s kit starting price, not an installed quote. The page does not establish a universal installed cost. Tuning, fuel components, labor, options and any custom fitting can affect the final amount, so obtain a quote for the exact motorcycle and configuration before committing.

What performance can you expect?

ProCharger advertises up to 75% more horsepower for the specified current M8 Touring kit. This is a manufacturer claim, not a guaranteed result for every motorcycle or an independently verified result for an individual build. The available information does not establish a universal horsepower gain, dyno result or drivability outcome across models, configurations and tuning choices.

How to compare supercharger options

Compare only products confirmed for your exact motorcycle, and use the same practical questions for each quote:

  • Fitment: Does the manufacturer confirm the exact model, year and engine?
  • Package: Which hardware is included, and which injectors, fuel components, tuning or clutch parts are extra?
  • System design: What intercooling and drive arrangement does the kit use?
  • Installation: Who will install and tune it, and is custom fitting or clearance work expected?
  • Compliance: Is there documentation applicable to the precise motorcycle-kit combination and your jurisdiction?
  • Warranty and total cost: What warranty terms apply, and what is the itemized installed price?

The available product information does not provide a universal independent comparison across supercharger brands or against naturally aspirated upgrades. Base the decision on verified fitment, documented requirements and a complete quote for your bike.
