On Viper systems that use the documented Alarm/System Valet procedure, switch the ignition ON and then OFF, then press and release the Control Center button once. Check the system’s LED or other confirmation signal to verify the change. Viper has several valet modes, so use your system’s owner guide for the exact procedure—especially if you mean remote-start (Start Valet) mode.
First, identify which Viper valet mode is active
“Valet mode” can refer to Alarm Valet, System Valet, Start Valet, or Combo Valet. These modes do not necessarily disable the same functions, and the button sequence can differ. A single press that exits Alarm/System Valet may not turn off Start Valet.
If you know the system model, use its owner guide to confirm the mode and procedure. The model-specific Directed 5908V Owner’s Guide, for example, describes both manual and remote ways to enter or exit its valet mode; its remote commands should not be assumed to work on other Viper systems.
Turn off Alarm or System Valet with the Control Center
- Turn the vehicle ignition ON, then OFF.
- Press and release the Control Center (valet) button once.
- Check the status LED and any siren, horn, or parking-light confirmation described in your system’s owner guide. The signal varies by system and mode.
This is the documented manual procedure for systems whose guide specifies a one-press Alarm/System Valet toggle. Viper product materials describe the Control Center as combining the antenna, valet switch, and status LED on the listed system; button placement and equipment can differ by installation.

If you mean Start Valet, use its separate procedure
On systems with a separate Start Valet mode, the documented manual procedure is to hold the Control Center button for five seconds. The cited guide material describes nine parking-light flashes as confirmation; on some systems, flash speed distinguishes turning the mode on from turning it off. Follow the owner guide for your exact system rather than treating that signal or hold time as universal.

If valet mode will not turn off
- Confirm the mode: Check whether the guide describes Alarm/System Valet, Start Valet, or a combined mode; each may respond differently.
- Verify the system model: Look for the system’s documentation or identifying information, then match the instructions to the installed system—not just the remote’s appearance.
- Check the Control Center: If the button is missing or unresponsive, or you cannot identify the system, a Viper dealer or qualified automotive security installer can help. Viper’s product materials provide a dealer-finding route.
- Replace a remote only if needed: If you do not have a working remote, verify compatibility with the exact system before buying one. Viper’s remote compatibility information and product listings, such as its 7211V page, show why model and, for some older products, date-code details matter. The manual Control Center procedure does not require a replacement remote.
