There is no verified seconds-faster answer for a GR Supra with only an ECU tune and bolt-ons. National Speed reported 448.28 wheel horsepower and 518.73 lb-ft for one modified 2020 Supra running 93-octane fuel, but its account gives no matched stock dyno result or timed acceleration test. That figure shows what one bundled build produced—not how many seconds it shaved from 0–60 mph or the quarter-mile.
What the documented bolt-on Supra actually made
In a December 2021 build report, National Speed described a customer’s 2020 GR Supra 3.0 with an MST Performance intake, MST turbo inlet and SGEAR/FTP charge pipe. The shop added an ECU unlock and a customer-provided downpipe, then performed a custom EcuTek calibration with 93-octane gasoline in the tank. It reported 448.28 whp and 518.73 lb-ft. National Speed’s build account does not provide a comparable before-tune dyno figure or a timed acceleration run.

Those are wheel-output figures reported by the shop for that specific car and combination. The parts and calibration were bundled, so the report cannot tell you how much power came from the tune, intake, inlet, charge pipe or downpipe individually. Nor does it establish a result that another Supra should expect: model year, ECU status, fuel, hardware, dyno setup and calibration all matter.

Why the available numbers do not show a time gain
A power figure and an acceleration time answer different questions. To say precisely how much faster a tuned car became, you need comparable stock and modified timed runs—ideally on the same car, with consistent conditions, transmission, tires, launch procedure and timing method. The National Speed account supplies no such before-and-after test, so subtracting its result from a stock 0–60 or quarter-mile time would create a misleading comparison.
| Reference | What it reports | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| National Speed, 2021 report on a 2020 modified Supra | 448.28 whp and 518.73 lb-ft on 93 octane, after an ECU unlock, custom calibration and several bolt-ons | One shop-reported modified result; no matched stock dyno or acceleration time. |
| Car and Driver, stock 2020 Supra test | 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds; quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds at 113 mph | An independent stock-car test, not a test of the National Speed car. Car and Driver’s report also discusses a stock-car dynamometer comparison, not a matched tuned-versus-stock acceleration test. |
| Toyota, 2024 GR Supra 3.0 specifications | Manufacturer-estimated 0–60 mph in 3.9 seconds for the automatic and 4.2 seconds for the manual | Official estimates for the 2024 model year, not measurements of the 2020 modified car. Toyota’s specifications are useful stock context, not a tuned-car baseline. |
The Car and Driver and Toyota figures are not contradictory: one is an independent test of a stock 2020 car, while the other is Toyota’s estimate for 2024 models. Neither is a matched baseline for the modified 2020 Supra.
Does Toyota’s 10-second Supra prove what bolt-ons can do?
No. Toyota reported a 10.984-second quarter-mile for one of its 2020-based SEMA project cars, but this was a much more extensive build than a tune and basic bolt-ons. Toyota lists a Pure Turbo single turbo, two CSF high-performance intercoolers, a catless downpipe, 3.5-inch exhaust and ECU tuning. The project’s elapsed time cannot be used to estimate the gain from the National Speed setup. Toyota also identifies the cars as project prototypes modified with parts and accessories that may affect warranty, performance, safety or street legality. Toyota’s SEMA account provides the build context.

What to ask before judging a tune-and-bolt-on claim
When comparing Supra modification claims, check whether the cars and measurements are genuinely comparable:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Same car and baseline: Were stock and modified times recorded on the same vehicle, rather than inferred from separate cars or model years?
- Exact hardware and ECU: Is the build limited to bolt-ons, or does it include a larger turbo, intercoolers or other major changes? Was the ECU unlocked, and what calibration was used?
- Fuel: Was the result measured on pump gasoline, and at what octane or ethanol blend?
- Output type and method: Is the figure wheel horsepower or estimated crank horsepower? What dyno and correction method were used?
- Timed-run conditions: For acceleration claims, are transmission, tires, launch procedure, weather, track surface and timing method known?
Without those details, a headline power number can describe a particular build but cannot establish a reliable seconds-gained promise for other owners.
