For a U.S. benchmark, Kelley Blue Book’s estimate current in September 2026 puts five-year ownership of a 2025 Audi S e-tron GT at $139,559. That modeled total includes $56,367 in out-of-pocket expenses and $83,192 in depreciation. It is not a quote for every e-tron GT or a prediction of what a particular owner will pay: purchase price, resale value, insurance, charging, financing, fees and warranty status all affect the result.

Keep the model years separate: Audi USA lists the 2026 S e-tron GT starting at $127,700, while the KBB ownership estimate is for the 2025 S e-tron GT. The figures below are U.S.-specific unless identified otherwise.

What does the five-year estimate include?

Kelley Blue Book’s five-year cost-to-own model combines expenses during ownership with the vehicle’s modeled loss in value. Its September 2026 estimate for a 2025 Audi S e-tron GT breaks down as follows:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Cost category Five-year estimate What it represents
Depreciation $83,192 Modeled loss in value over the period
Insurance $23,110 Five-year modeled insurance total, not an annual premium
Financing $14,905 Modeled financing expense
State fees $9,302 Modeled fees; actual charges depend on jurisdiction and registration rules
Maintenance $3,933 Modeled scheduled-service and maintenance expense
Energy $3,045 Modeled electricity expense
Repairs $2,072 Modeled repair expense
Out-of-pocket expenses $56,367 Sum of the expense categories above, excluding depreciation
Total cost to own $139,559 Out-of-pocket expenses plus modeled depreciation

These are KBB model outputs, not a customer invoice or guaranteed future costs. They are useful as a common reference point, but your actual total can differ substantially. In particular, a lease, a cash purchase, a different loan, a used car, or a different insurance profile will not match the assumptions behind this illustration.

EVIQO Level 2 EV Charger J1772 48A - Hardwired 240V Wall Charging Station
  • WORKS WITH EVERY NON-TESLA EV: Standard J1772 connector plugs straight into Ford, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Rivian, Lucid and every other EV or plug-in hybrid sold with a J1772 port - no adapter needed. Tesla drivers can charge too, using the J1772 adapter that comes with the car. The extra-long 25 ft cable easily reaches across a garage or driveway.
  • HARDWIRED - PROFESSIONAL INSTALL: This Level 2 charger is hardwired (not plug-in), so a licensed electrician installs it per National Electrical Code. Before ordering, check your car's port type and that your electrical panel can support the circuit.
  • CONTROL FROM YOUR PHONE: A stronger built-in antenna keeps the charger online even in a garage or basement. Use the free app to start and stop charging, set the charging speed (6-48A), get reminders, and track how much energy and money each charge uses. Requires a 2.4 GHz home WiFi network.
  • SAFETY-CERTIFIED & WEATHERPROOF: Independently tested and certified (UL, ETL, FCC, Energy Star). A fully sealed IP66 / NEMA 4 housing stands up to rain, snow, heat and dust indoors or out, and internal steel shielding protects the electronics for years of reliable use.
  • GLOW-IN-THE-DARK HOLSTER: The included high-visibility holster glows in the dark so you can find and dock the plug easily at night. Holds the connector securely when not in use.

Why depreciation dominates the estimate

In KBB’s modeled example, depreciation is the largest component: $83,192 of the five-year total. The model assigns $54,917 of depreciation to the first year. Those amounts are estimates of lost value, not a guaranteed resale loss or the amount an owner will necessarily realize when selling.

Resale value depends on the car’s age and mileage, condition, accident and service history, local demand and broader market conditions at the time of sale. An e-tron GT bought used has a different starting value and remaining depreciation exposure from a new one; its actual ownership cost cannot be inferred by simply applying the new-car estimate to it.

For a useful personal estimate, compare the amount you expect to pay with a realistic future sale or trade-in value for the specific model year, trim, mileage and condition. Treat that future value as an uncertain assumption. A difference of several thousand dollars in purchase price or resale proceeds changes the effective cost even if day-to-day expenses remain the same.

What the 2026 price and specifications tell you

Audi USA’s 2026 S e-tron GT page, accessed October 9, 2026, lists a starting price of $127,700. That is a starting price for the 2026 S trim, not the price of every configuration and not the purchase price used in KBB’s 2025 ownership estimate. Configuration, offers and timing can change the amount a buyer pays.

  • Fast & Powerful: This EV charger charges 9× faster than a 120V outlet, delivering up to 45 mi/hr., dependent upon your vehicle. It features a J1772 connector for all non-Tesla EVs and requires a 20A or 80A circuit. For Tesla EVs, this will require an adapter.

The same U.S. page lists a 105 kWh battery and an EPA-estimated 300-mile range with 20-inch wheels for the 2026 S e-tron GT. Audi also lists DC charging up to 320 kW and says charging from 10% to 80% can take about 18 minutes at a public DC fast charger. These are model-specific figures, not a promise of real-world range or charging time. Audi says charging time varies with ambient temperature, charger type, battery condition, initial state of charge and vehicle condition.

Range by itself does not determine an owner’s electricity bill. Annual distance, driving conditions, electricity tariff and the proportion of charging done at home or at public stations matter. The KBB five-year energy figure is a model estimate; it is not a published rate per mile that can safely be applied to every driver.

Insurance, financing and fees are personal costs

Get insurance quotes for your own profile

KBB’s September 2026 estimate assigns $23,110 to insurance over five years—an average of $4,622 per year within that model. The annual figure is an arithmetic equivalent of the five-year estimate, not a quote for a driver. KBB identifies driver age, driving record, credit rating, location, trim and insurer as factors that can change premiums.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Before committing to a purchase, request quotes using the actual vehicle identification details when available, your address, the intended drivers and the coverage limits you need. Compare equivalent coverages and deductibles; otherwise, two quoted premiums may not be comparable. Do not assume the KBB estimate applies to your household just because the vehicle is the same.

Recalculate financing and government charges

KBB includes $14,905 for financing and $9,302 in state fees in its example. Your financing cost depends on the amount borrowed, loan terms and other lender conditions; fees and taxes depend on the purchase price and the rules where the vehicle is titled and registered. A larger down payment or a different loan changes financing expense, while a different jurisdiction can change fees.

No universal tax, registration or incentive total is established here. Check the charges that apply to your exact transaction and location rather than treating the KBB state-fee line as a nationwide bill. Likewise, do not subtract an incentive from a projected total unless you have confirmed that it applies to your purchase and understand how it is delivered.

Charging costs and home electrical work

Audi says the e-tron vehicles come with a portable charging unit. For Level 2 home charging, Audi’s FAQ describes a 240-volt supply and says installation requires a dedicated circuit. The unit’s inclusion does not mean that a home is already equipped for the needed circuit or that installation is free. Audi states, “Costs can vary based on your individual home and its current electrical system setup.”

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A qualified electrician can assess the home’s panel, wiring and installation requirements. The actual work and cost depend on the property and electrical setup; there is no supported universal installation price. Before arranging equipment or electrical work, verify the connector, electrical capacity, amperage, installation requirements and applicable local code for the particular vehicle and setup.

To estimate charging expense, use your own electricity rate and expected charging pattern. A driver who can charge mostly at home may face a different cost from one who relies heavily on public charging. Include any home electrical work as a separate one-time ownership expense instead of hiding it inside an assumed per-mile electricity rate. Audi’s U.S. materials say charging costs depend on charging location and home energy rates.

For geographic context only, Audi UK’s calculator uses official WLTP figures and assumes a 7 kW home charger replenishing net capacity from 0% to 100%; its vehicle data is stated as correct on September 17, 2026. That UK calculator’s assumptions and energy prices are not a substitute for U.S. EPA range ratings or a U.S. household’s electricity tariff.

Maintenance, repairs and battery warranty

For its 2025 S e-tron GT example, KBB models $3,933 in maintenance and $2,072 in repairs across five years. These are estimated cost categories, not a guaranteed service schedule, a repair quote or a promise that every owner will spend those amounts. The estimate does not establish a maintenance schedule for every model year, so use the maintenance information for the vehicle you are considering and its service history.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Audi says model-year 2021 and newer e-tron vehicles have a high-voltage battery limited warranty of eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Check the warranty literature for the particular car and market to confirm coverage and terms. The warranty should not be read as a promise that all repairs or battery capacity loss are covered: Audi notes that battery capacity decreases with time and use.

For a used e-tron GT, establish the in-service date and mileage, review warranty documentation and confirm what coverage remains. A battery warranty’s time and mileage limits are both relevant. A vehicle can be within one limit but beyond the other, and warranty status does not remove the need to budget for maintenance, repairs or other ownership expenses.

Build a cost estimate for your own situation

The best way to make the KBB figure useful is to replace its assumptions with figures for the exact car and household. Keep the time period consistent—five years, for example—and separate cash expenses from depreciation so the result is understandable.

  1. Choose the vehicle and purchase price. Record the model year, trim, mileage and condition, then use the price you expect to pay rather than a different year’s starting price.
  2. Estimate depreciation separately. Subtract a cautious estimate of the vehicle’s value at the end of your ownership period from your purchase price. Treat future resale value as uncertain and adjust it for mileage, condition and market risk.
  3. Get an insurance quote. Use your location, driver details and intended coverage. Replace the modeled insurance line rather than treating it as your premium.
  4. Calculate loan expense and transaction charges. Use your proposed loan terms and the applicable local taxes, registration and other fees. Keep incentives out unless eligibility and value are confirmed.
  5. Estimate charging and setup. Apply your electricity rates to expected charging use, reflect your home/public charging mix, and add any electrical installation work as a separate cost.
  6. Account for maintenance, repairs and warranty. Check the vehicle-specific service information and records. For a used car, verify remaining warranty terms instead of assuming it has the same coverage as a newer vehicle.
  7. Add the costs for the same ownership period. Sum cash expenses and depreciation for a total-cost view. If comparing scenarios, keep the period and included categories consistent.

This approach makes comparisons more meaningful than a single national average. For example, compare a new and used car using their separate purchase prices and depreciation assumptions; compare home and public charging using the rates and setup costs that apply to each; and compare vehicles only after obtaining insurance quotes for the same driver and coverage.

How to interpret the number before buying

The $139,559 KBB estimate is best used as a U.S. five-year reference for one specific vehicle—the 2025 S e-tron GT—not as an answer for every Audi e-tron GT owner. It shows that depreciation and insurance are substantial parts of the modeled total, while the other lines depend on the owner’s financing, location, charging and use.

For a buying decision, prioritize the unknowns that could most change your own result: the car’s purchase and future resale value, a real insurance quote, loan terms, local fees and charging arrangements. Confirm the exact vehicle’s warranty and service history, particularly if it is used. Once those figures are available, a personalized five-year calculation is more informative than treating any published estimate as a bill you should expect to receive.
