The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has a manufacturer-listed top speed of 180 mph (about 290 km/h). Jeep also claimed it could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. These are launch-era manufacturer figures, not independently verified test results.
What is the Trackhawk’s top speed?
For the 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Jeep’s launch specifications list a top speed of 180 mph, or approximately 290 km/h. That is the manufacturer’s published claim; an independently measured top-speed result is not established here. Stellantis’ 2018 Trackhawk specifications provide the paired 180-mph figure.
A Stellantis Canada press-kit page renders the metric figure as 320 km/h, which does not precisely convert from 180 mph. The paired launch figure of 180 mph and about 290 km/h is the clearer way to express the claim. The launch specifications are the basis for the 180-mph figure; the Canadian press-kit rendering contains the discrepancy.
How quickly does it accelerate?
Jeep’s 2018 launch material claims 0–60 mph in 3.5 seconds. It also lists a quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds at 116 mph. Both are manufacturer-published figures rather than independent measurements. Stellantis’ launch specifications give these acceleration figures.

What helps the Trackhawk achieve those figures?
Supercharged V8 and eight-speed transmission
The 2018 Trackhawk’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8 is rated at 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque in U.S. launch material. The vehicle uses an eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission. Jeep’s specifications list the engine output, while the 2018 Grand Cherokee brochure describes the transmission.
Launch Control
Jeep describes Launch Control as coordinating the engine, transmission, driveline and suspension to support a controlled launch. The feature is part of the performance package’s context, but it does not turn the manufacturer’s acceleration claim into a guaranteed result for every vehicle or condition. The brochure provides the system description.

Tires, braking and cornering claims
The manufacturer’s equipment description names Pirelli 295/45ZR20 Scorpion Verde All-Season and Pirelli P Zero three-season tires. Jeep also claims a 60–0 mph braking distance of 114 feet and 0.88g on a skidpad. These, too, are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. Check the vehicle’s year and configuration before choosing replacement tires. Jeep’s launch material lists the tires and performance figures.

- Top speed: 180 mph (about 290 km/h), the manufacturer’s claim for the 2018 model.
- 0–60 mph: 3.5 seconds, as claimed in the same launch-era material.
- Quarter mile: 11.6 seconds at 116 mph, also a manufacturer figure.
These numbers describe different measures: top speed is a maximum-speed claim, while 0–60 mph and quarter-mile time describe acceleration. Actual performance can vary with vehicle condition, modifications, tires and circumstances; the cited manufacturer sources do not quantify those effects. When comparing SUVs, match model year and configuration, compare the same performance measures, and distinguish manufacturer claims from independently measured tests.
