That was the launch-era price—not today’s. Wuyang-Honda’s 2026 listing shows three versions priced from ¥3,499 to ¥5,399, with different batteries, claimed ranges, weights and brakes.
What Honda launched in 2021
On July 9, 2021, Wuyang-Honda announced the U-be alongside the U-GO for city riders in China. Honda’s later corporate history describes both as locally developed, scooter-type models. Wuyang-Honda presented the U-be as a high-value electric bicycle, so “electric two-wheeler” is the clearest general description: the manufacturer’s label should not be taken as proof of how the vehicle is classified under another country’s laws. Why the launch was called affordable
Honda’s corporate history gives the lowest-priced launch configuration as ¥3,099. Wuyang-Honda’s 2021 announcement described the price as being in the ¥3,000 range. How the U-be changed after launch
The original U-be was described by Honda as a single-rider model weighing 54 kg, with a low seat and short wheelbase intended to make it manageable. Wuyang-Honda’s 2021 material also claimed up to 80 km of range for a 48V/24Ah lithium configuration and a climbing angle of up to 12 degrees. In an August 2023 update, Wuyang-Honda said the U-be family had expanded with upgrades, smart features and additional versions. It introduced a youth-oriented edition priced at ¥3,480, with a 14Ah lithium battery and a rear seat whose stated extra load capacity was 50 kg. 2026 U-be versions, prices and specifications
Wuyang-Honda’s current listing labels the model U-be 2026 and gives three configurations. The listed prices are the manufacturer’s current recommendations in Chinese yuan; the figures are not evidence of a price or sale availability outside China. Wuyang-Honda’s U-be 2026 listing.

All three configurations list 400W maximum motor power and a 25 km/h top speed. The two lithium versions list Wi LINK connectivity. The 40 km, 80 km and 105 km figures are manufacturer test-condition results, not guaranteed distances in everyday riding. Wuyang-Honda describes laboratory conditions and notes that actual range can vary with riding habits, road conditions, temperature, wind and other factors. Battery capacity is one visible difference among the versions, but the listed ranges should not be treated as promises for a particular rider or route. Wuyang-Honda’s U-be 2026 listing.

What the listing does—and does not—say about buying one elsewhere
The manufacturer sources establish a China-market launch and list prices in yuan. They do not establish whether the U-be is sold or exported to another country, whether an individual import is possible, or how that country would classify or regulate it. A US forum post asking about importing a U-be is one person’s question, not evidence of current availability or legal road use. Example forum question.
For anyone considering a vehicle outside its documented market, confirm import rules, registration requirements and permitted vehicle class with the relevant local authorities before buying or riding. The available manufacturer information does not provide those country-specific answers.
