Power and performance
The main WN7 produces up to 50kW and 100Nm of torque, with Honda quoting 3.9 seconds for 0–50km/h and a 129km/h top speed. The 11kW version is rated at 11.2kW, reaches 120km/h and takes 5.0 seconds to cover the same 0–50km/h measurement.
Both versions are listed with 100Nm of torque, the same 9.3kWh battery, 217kg kerb weight, 800mm seat height and 1,480mm wheelbase. The different power ratings and test-cycle classifications mean buyers should confirm which version is available and legally appropriate in their market rather than assuming that every WN7 has the principal model’s performance.

Honda WN7 range: what the numbers mean
Honda quotes 140km of WMTC2-2 certified range for the principal WN7. The 11kW version is listed at 154km under WMTC2-1. These are standardized certification results, not a promise that the motorcycle will travel that distance on every charge.
Actual distance depends on factors such as speed, temperature, wind, hills, rider and luggage weight, tire pressures, traffic and use of the bike’s riding modes. Faster motorway riding and cold weather can reduce the distance available compared with a certification test. The two figures also use different WMTC sub-cycles, so they should not be interpreted as a simple like-for-like range advantage for the 11kW model.
For commuting, the more useful question is whether the certified figure provides enough margin for the rider’s normal round trip, with reserve for weather, detours and charging access. At present, the available information does not establish independent real-world range for the WN7.

Honda WN7 charging time and connectors
The WN7 supports both Type 2 AC normal charging and CCS2 DC fast charging. Honda quotes approximately:
- 20–80% on CCS2 fast charging: about 30 minutes.
- Full normal charge: about 2.4–2.5 hours, depending on the regional page and charging setup.
Charging time can vary with the supply, charger, battery temperature and charging environment. The 30-minute figure is therefore a quoted charging claim, not a guaranteed time at every public charger.
The connector choice is one of the WN7’s most practical distinctions. Type 2 and CCS2 are familiar from car-charging infrastructure, and Honda specifically describes the motorcycle as compatible with car charging infrastructure. Type 2 AC is suited to routine or destination charging; CCS2 fast charging is intended to shorten stops when compatible high-power equipment is available.
Honda also lists a WN7 Mode 3 charging cable as an accessory. Buyers should confirm the cable’s connector arrangement, electrical rating, regional specification and compatibility with the intended home charger or public charging equipment before purchasing. A generic Type 2 cable should not automatically be assumed to be suitable simply because the motorcycle uses Type 2 AC charging.
Motor, battery and chassis design
The WN7 uses a water-cooled electric motor with an integrated inverter, a fixed 9.3kWh lithium-ion battery and belt drive. Honda positions the battery centrally and uses a frameless chassis layout, with the stated goals of keeping the motorcycle slim and centralizing mass.
A fixed battery means the WN7 is designed around charging rather than swapping. That brings the benefit of a conventional full-size motorcycle layout, but it also makes access to suitable charging infrastructure more important than it is on a small removable-battery commuter. The 217kg kerb weight is substantial for a motorcycle, which is why Honda’s low-speed maneuvering assistance matters in everyday use.

Equipment and riding technology
The WN7 is a naked electric motorcycle developed under Honda’s “Be the Wind” concept. Its standard technology package includes:
- Four riding modes: Sport, Standard, Rain and Econ.
- Adjustable regenerative deceleration through the left-hand Deceleration Selector.
- Walking Speed Mode with slow forward and reverse movement.
- Selectable speed-limit assistance.
- ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control in the relevant market specification.
- A 5-inch TFT instrument display.
- Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity.
- LED lighting.
- Smart Key operation.
- A USB Type-C socket.
The Deceleration Selector lets the rider vary how strongly the motorcycle slows when the throttle is closed, while regenerative deceleration can return some energy to the battery. The available material does not quantify the energy recovered or claim a specific range increase from regeneration.
Walking Speed Mode is particularly relevant on a 217kg electric motorcycle. It can move the WN7 slowly forwards or backwards, helping with parking and low-speed positioning where balancing throttle control and clutch-free drive would otherwise be awkward.

Equipment can differ by market, so the local Honda specification should take precedence over a general European equipment list. In particular, buyers should verify the exact availability of ABS, torque-control functions, connectivity features and speed-assistance functions in their country.
Honda WN7 accessories and ownership essentials
Honda Germany identifies a genuine Honda WN7 passenger-seat bag with 15 litres of capacity, expandable to 22 litres, and supplied with a rain cover. It is a useful solution for small items when the naked motorcycle’s standard carrying capacity is limited. Confirm model-year fitment, mounting requirements, local availability and dealer compatibility before ordering; Honda’s listing does not by itself confirm stock in every country or availability through Amazon.
For charging at home or at compatible public equipment, the Honda-listed Mode 3 cable may be more useful than relying on whatever cable happens to be available at a destination. Again, verify the exact cable specification and the charging equipment it is intended to connect to. Type 2 AC charging and CCS2 fast charging are related but are not interchangeable cable arrangements.

Because the WN7 is a full-size road motorcycle with a 129km/h top speed in its principal UK specification, riders should budget for proper protective equipment: a compliant full-face helmet, motorcycle gloves, jacket, trousers or riding suit, boots and weather-appropriate visibility gear. These should be treated as general motorcycle equipment, not Honda-approved or WN7-specific accessories unless the manufacturer explicitly says so.

There is no confirmed US price, US-specific homologation statement or American Honda product specification in the available official research. Honda has published European-market information, including UK and German pricing, but those figures do not establish that the WN7 is currently orderable in the United States.
Potential US buyers should wait for an American Honda Powersports announcement covering availability, certification, trim, charging connector details, warranty, incentives and range testing for the US market. Importing a European motorcycle could raise separate questions around federal and state compliance, registration, charging standards, warranty support and parts supply; none of those issues should be assumed to be resolved by the European launch.
Honda WN7: the early verdict from the published data
The WN7’s strongest specifications are its substantial 50kW output, 100Nm of torque, car-compatible Type 2 and CCS2 charging, useful rider technology and Honda’s attention to low-speed maneuvering. The £12,999 UK price places it in serious full-size motorcycle territory rather than the small urban scooter category.
The limitations are equally important: the battery is fixed, the principal certified range is 140km rather than a long-distance touring figure, and real-world range has not yet been independently established in the supplied information. Buyers also need to distinguish the principal model from the 11kW version and check local equipment, pricing and availability.

On the evidence currently published, the WN7 is best understood as a full-size road motorcycle for riders who can plan around charging—not as a universal replacement for a petrol touring bike or as a US-market product confirmed for sale.
