Was the Honda CR-V delayed?

Honda declined to confirm the CR-V-specific schedule details to Automotive News, according to Kelley Blue Book. A Honda spokesperson, whose name was not given, said dealer inventory was approximately a 17-day supply at the time—well below Honda’s ideal level. That inventory comment does not confirm the reported production date or volume estimate.
What does Honda officially say about its next-generation hybrids?
In a May 14, 2026 global business briefing, Honda said it planned to begin launching next-generation hybrid models in 2027, using a new hybrid system and platform, and outlined plans to expand hybrid production capability. The briefing supports Honda’s broad hybrid-product strategy; it does not confirm an April 2027 CR-V production start.
