The Honda NSX Tensei is an independent JAS Motorsport project built around a selected first-generation NSX donor, not a new Honda factory model. JAS says the car will pair an NSX-inspired naturally aspirated V6 with a six-speed manual, a carbon-fibre body styled by Pininfarina and a production limit of 35 cars. Its announced Paris Motor Show debut is scheduled for October 12–18, 2026.
What is the Honda NSX Tensei?
Tensei is JAS Motorsport’s first high-performance road car, developed in Italy with Pininfarina responsible for its exterior and interior design. JAS says it is based on a selected early-1990s, first-generation Honda NSX donor and reinterprets that car’s character for a modern build. The name, announced by JAS on December 2, 2025, means “rebirth” in Japanese.
The distinction matters: Tensei is a JAS-built car based on an NSX donor, not a newly produced Honda NSX or a Honda factory restoration. JAS plans to build it at its atelier in Arluno, near Milan. The project draws on the company’s motorsport background—JAS says its cars have won more than 900 events—but that company-reported record is not a performance result for Tensei.
What engine and transmission will it use?
JAS has announced an NSX-inspired, naturally aspirated V6 paired with a six-speed manual transmission. ANSA reported on April 30, 2026, that British engine builder Judd would supply the engine. The reviewed announcements and report do not establish its final displacement, horsepower, torque, acceleration or top speed. Those figures should not be inferred from the original NSX or from Judd’s other engines.

JAS says Tensei is based on the 1990s NSX platform and incorporates motorsport-derived technical solutions. That describes the project’s stated approach, not a published list of engineering changes or independently measured performance.
What do the design images show?
JAS says the body is entirely carbon fibre. Pininfarina designed both the exterior and cabin; JAS describes the cockpit as refined and driver-focused, with hundreds of customisable combinations. Those are the company’s descriptions, not independent assessments from a road test.

Images released by JAS on August 10, 2026, are described by the company as reflecting the car’s final production appearance. That refers to the styling shown in the images; it does not mean every mechanical specification, customer delivery date or final price has been disclosed.
How much does the JAS Tensei cost?
ANSA reported on April 30, 2026, that JAS’s list price starts at €880,000. The reported starting figure excludes the donor car, local taxes and customisation, so it is not an all-in quote. Buyers should confirm current pricing and what is included directly with JAS or its relevant sales partner.

How many will be built, and when will it debut?
JAS says production will be limited to 35 cars. The company announced a public debut at the Paris Motor Show, scheduled for October 12–18, 2026, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. That event is upcoming as of October 5, 2026. JAS has not established a customer delivery timetable in the material reviewed.
Where can North American buyers inquire?
JAS names Graham Rahal Performance as its official sales and customer-service partner in the United States, and Pfaff Reserve as its official Canadian partner. Those designations make them the announced North American inquiry contacts; current order availability and terms should be confirmed with the businesses directly.

How is Tensei different from restoring an original NSX?
A restoration aims to preserve or return an original Honda NSX to an intended condition. Tensei instead uses an early-1990s NSX donor as the basis for a distinct JAS-built car, with a carbon-fibre body, Pininfarina styling and the announced V6/manual combination. It should therefore be understood as a low-volume reinterpretation, not as an original NSX with ordinary replacement parts.
Honda has announced Honda Heritage Parts, a global program for selected genuine compatible and reproduction parts for classic Honda models, beginning with the first-generation NSX. Honda has also announced restoration services in Japan, with basic and total restoration options. These initiatives concern original-model ownership; no reviewed information establishes that Heritage Parts are installed on Tensei or fit its re-engineered systems.
