Honda’s EV OUTLIER is an electric motorcycle concept built around an unusual idea: in-wheel motors at both the front and rear, freeing the rest of the design to explore a low, streamlined form and a different kind of riding experience. Honda calls it a vision for motorcycles beyond 2030, not a confirmed production model.
What is the Honda EV OUTLIER concept?
Honda presented the EV OUTLIER CONCEPT at Japan Mobility Show 2025 as an electric motorcycle concept developed through an approach intended to challenge conventional ideas. In its October 29, 2025 overview of its CEO’s Japan Mobility Show speech, Honda described it as a “new vision for motorcycles beyond 2030.” That is a statement of design direction, not an announcement of a production schedule.
What makes its layout different?
Honda says the concept has an in-wheel motor in each wheel: one at the front and one at the rear. The company links this arrangement to the packaging freedom of electric motorcycles, saying it allows distinctive proportions and dynamic, low-profile styling. Honda’s official concept description does not give motor output, battery capacity, range, or charging time.
The layout matters here as a design proposition: Honda is exploring how electric propulsion can shape the motorcycle around the wheels and rider, rather than simply presenting a conventional motorcycle form with an electric powertrain. The published material does not quantify how the two motors affect performance.

- 3500W Peak Power & 220Nm Torque** - Unleashes rapid acceleration and conquers 35° off-road climbs with ease. Reaches 38-46mph top speed in seconds, delivering dirt bike-level performance for adult thrill-seekers.
- 53-Mile Range & 48V 23Ah Battery** - High-capacity lithium battery supports continuous trail riding. Fast 6-hour full charge gets you back on the road overnight. Battery management system prevents overheat, overcharge, and short circuits.
- Nitrogen-Filled Technology** - Prevents hydraulic oil from forming bubbles (cavitation) under high temperatures or continuous jolts, ensuring shock absorption performance remains unaffected after 5 hours of high-intensity off-road driving.Compared to conventional hydraulic dampers, it maintains 90% of performance during continuous use, preventing loss of control due to shock failure.
- Dual Hydraulic Disc Brakes & Steel Frame** - Large front and rear brake discs deliver consistent stopping power in mud, water, and sand. Reinforced steel frame supports up to 265 lbs while maintaining agile handling.
- TUV Certified & 1-Year Warranty** - Meets strict safety standards for electric bicycles. Easy assemble with tools included. US-based customer support and replacement parts available nationwide.
Honda’s three intended riding themes
Honda Design organizes the concept around “Gliding,” “Ecstasy,” and “Low.” These are Honda’s descriptions of the intended experience, not independently verified ride-test results. The EV OUTLIER project page and project interview explain the ideas this way:
Gliding
Honda describes a smooth, quiet ride, with fluid transitions among acceleration, deceleration, and cornering. The concept pages express a design goal; they do not establish how the motorcycle rides in practice.

- POWERFUL 4500W PEAK MID-DRIVE MOTOR – Experience instant acceleration and responsive power with a high-performance mid-drive motor delivering up to 50 MPH and 283 N·m of max torque. Built for climbing hills, riding trails, and conquering challenging off-road terrain with confidence.
- REMOVABLE 60V 28.8AH BATTERY – Ride farther with a high-capacity lithium battery that delivers up to 60 miles of range under optimal conditions. The removable design makes charging more convenient at home, in the garage, or wherever power is available.
- FULL SUSPENSION & HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES – Front and rear suspension help absorb bumps for a smoother ride, while hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power and better control on dirt roads, gravel, forest trails, and uneven terrain.
- DURABLE FRAME & ALL-TERRAIN TIRES – Designed for outdoor adventures with a rugged frame and aggressive all-terrain tires that provide outstanding traction and stability across dirt, sand, rocks, grass, and other challenging riding surfaces.
- ENGINEERED FOR ADULT RIDERS – Combining premium performance with dependable quality, this electric dirt bike is UL2272 certified and built for trail riding, weekend adventures, outdoor recreation, and off-road exploration for riders seeking excitement and reliability.
Ecstasy
This theme focuses on responsiveness, acceleration, and torque. Project leader Yuya Tsutsumi says the front and rear motors can be controlled to suit conditions and deliver drive force more directly to the road. Honda provides no numerical performance specifications to support a comparison with other motorcycles.
Low
Honda says it aimed for an exceptionally low seat position and low rider eye point, using the freedom of electric-vehicle packaging. The cited material does not provide a measured seat height.

What the design and interface suggest
Honda Design says the battery is integrated into the concept’s main black body. That choice supports the uncluttered, low-profile form Honda is exploring, but the published descriptions do not specify battery chemistry, capacity, or a production-ready configuration.
The design interview also discusses camera-based mirrors, a slim, wide instrument cluster, and interface concepts for showing riding information and motor settings. These are described as elements of the concept, not as a finalized production interface.

- Reliable Stop System: IN10 electric bike’s braking setup pairs advanced EABS with hydraulic disc brakes for powerful, precise stopping. Even on dusty or muddy terrain, it delivers stronger braking force and smoother control—keeping every ride confident and steady.
- Note: Before riding, please ensure that the brakes/wheels and other devices of the IN10 ebike are installed correctly. Before purchasing, check the local legal age or license requirements to ensure legal use. Teens should operate the bike only under adult supervision and must follow all local safety regulations.
Honda also describes a bucket-type backrest intended to absorb acceleration and support a cornering sensation in which the rider pivots with their hips. This is an account of the design intent—not a tested claim about handling, comfort, or safety.
Is the Honda EV OUTLIER going into production?
Honda’s cited concept pages do not announce that EV OUTLIER will be sold, or give a release date, price, range, charging time, or output figure. The “beyond 2030” wording frames the concept as a future-facing vision; it does not confirm that this specific motorcycle will reach production.
