What changed on the New Honda Elevate?
Honda unveiled the New Elevate on 6 October 2026. The company says it retains the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, offered with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed CVT with paddle shifters. The announcement describes styling updates including a mesh grille, tri-bar LED position lights, a connected full-width rear lamp and revised 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. These are manufacturer-reported details, not an independent assessment of the SUV.

Honda lists a dual-tone ivory-and-black cabin, leather upholstery, active ventilation for front and rear seats, ambient lighting, USB-C ports in both rows and power-adjustable front seats among the changes. This is an advertised starting figure, not an on-road price or a full variant-by-variant price list; registration, insurance and other charges affect what a buyer pays, and the exact price can vary by city and variant. Confirm the current quote with a Honda dealer before comparing it with a rival.

A useful comparison uses the same price basis for every SUV: entry trims against entry trims, or the specific mid- or top-tier versions you would actually consider. Compare ex-showroom with ex-showroom or city-specific on-road with on-road, and include the equipment fitted to each quoted variant. Current rival prices and variant equipment are not established on a like-for-like basis here, so a price ranking would be unreliable.
How does it compare with the Creta, Seltos and other rivals?
The Elevate competes in a field that includes the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Citroën C3 Aircross. Choosing among them requires more than lining up starting prices: engine type, transmission, trim-level equipment, cabin and cargo needs, and the price basis all matter.

What do the older size figures tell you?
An older Autocar India specification comparison lists the Elevate at 4,312 mm long, 1,790 mm wide and 1,650 mm tall, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase, 220 mm ground clearance and a 458-litre boot. In that historical comparison set, the stated 220 mm clearance was the highest; the listed boot capacity was larger than most entries for which the article disclosed a figure. The comparison covered several rivals, but it is not a verification of current model-year specifications or a complete verdict on practicality. Treat those numbers as historical context and check current specifications and the actual luggage space you need.
Is the Elevate likely to perform better?
The New Elevate’s announced engine and transmission choices are a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol with a six-speed manual or seven-speed CVT. That identifies the available configurations; it does not establish how quickly the SUV accelerates, how much fuel it uses in everyday driving, or how its ride and handling compare with rivals. No comparable independent test results are established here. For a performance decision, compare the same kind of powertrain and transmission where possible, and rely on tests that state the version and measurement conditions rather than treating unlike engines as a straight contest.

How to make a fair shortlist
- Set a budget on one basis. Ask dealers for the exact variant price in your city, then compare all shortlisted SUVs using either ex-showroom prices or on-road quotes.
- Choose the powertrain you need. Decide whether you want a manual or automatic, and compare naturally aspirated, turbocharged and hybrid options as distinct choices rather than assuming the same price means the same proposition.
- Verify features by trim. Check the official equipment list for the version being quoted, especially for the New Elevate’s comfort, parking and Honda SENSING features.
- Check your own space needs. Sit in the front and rear seats, inspect visibility and try the boot with the kind of luggage you carry.
- Use comparable driving evidence. If acceleration, economy or ride quality matters, look for independent tests of the relevant versions or drive those trims yourself.
Who should consider the New Elevate?
It merits a place on the shortlist if its 1.5-litre petrol engine and manual or CVT configuration suit your preferences, and the announced cabin and convenience updates match the features you value. The decision against the Creta, Seltos or another rival still depends on the exact variant prices and equipment available in your city, plus your own space and driving priorities. A model-wide feature list or a starting price alone cannot settle that choice.
