Choose by budget, fuel and exact variant—not by the nameplate alone. The New Honda Elevate, unveiled on October 6, 2026, pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a manual or CVT and adds comfort and convenience equipment. The Kia Seltos spans a wider price and powertrain range, from ₹10,99,900 to ₹21,56,900 ex-showroom on Kia India’s listed range. For an apples-to-apples decision, compare versions with similar prices, fuel and gearboxes, then check the equipment on the exact trims you can buy.

2026 price comparison: what the listed figures cover

The price figures below are ex-showroom, not on-road prices. Kia India’s current All-New Seltos page lists the range endpoints. The New Elevate’s October 6 announcement did not include a full price list; Autocar India reported the launch prices shown here. Treat the Elevate figures as reported launch prices, not a substitute for a current written dealer quote. Confirm the price and variant availability locally before booking.

Honda Elevate ZX MT ₹15.39 lakh New Elevate launch price reported by Autocar India
Honda Elevate ZX CVT ₹16.89 lakh New Elevate launch price reported by Autocar India
Kia Seltos HTE to X Line (O) ₹10,99,900 to ₹21,56,900 Kia India’s listed All-New Seltos ex-showroom price range; endpoints cover different equipment and powertrain configurations

The Kia range starts below the reported Elevate entry price and extends well beyond the reported Elevate top price. Those endpoints do not identify a direct trim match: the Seltos range spans different engines, transmissions and equipment levels. Compare individual quotes within your budget rather than treating either range as a like-for-like contest. An entry-level Seltos and a high-grade Seltos are not interchangeable comparisons, any more than an SV manual and ZX CVT Elevate are.

The reported Elevate prices also show that gearbox choice can change the price within the same grade. The V CVT is listed at ₹13.79 lakh versus ₹12.29 lakh for the V MT; VX CVT at ₹15.39 lakh versus ₹13.93 lakh for VX MT; and ZX CVT at ₹16.89 lakh versus ₹15.39 lakh for ZX MT. These are launch-reported figures and should not be treated as a universal automatic-transmission surcharge or a current dealer quote. The SV price reported is for the manual.

Do not use the outgoing Elevate’s older price range as the price of the New Elevate. CarDekho’s August 18, 2026 comparison gave the pre-update model’s range as ₹11.60 lakh to ₹16.57 lakh; Honda unveiled the New Elevate on October 6. That earlier figure is useful only as dated context, not as the current model’s price list.

For the actual purchase budget, request itemised on-road offers for the precise variants being compared. Registration, insurance and other charges vary by city and can change the difference between two showroom prices. Ask each dealer to state what is included, whether an offer is conditional, and what the final amount due at delivery would be. If you are financing, compare the same down payment, loan amount, tenure, fees and rate assumptions; a monthly payment on its own can hide a different total cost.

Powertrains: match the engine and gearbox first

Honda Elevate

The New Elevate retains a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and is offered with a six-speed manual or a CVT. That makes the key choice within the Elevate range straightforward: choose the manual if you want a manual gearbox, or compare the CVT versions if an automatic is a priority. The reported prices show that the V, VX and ZX grades each have manual and CVT prices listed, while the entry SV price reported is for the manual.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The information available for the October update does not describe a new engine or a different gearbox lineup. Its announced changes focus on exterior styling and cabin equipment, while the engine and transmission choices remain the 1.5-litre petrol, six-speed manual and CVT. If you are comparing an older review or listing with a New Elevate quotation, check its date and model year so you are not mixing versions.

Kia Seltos

The Seltos offers a broader set of engine and transmission combinations, but Kia India’s listed price endpoints alone do not show which configuration is available at each price. Use Kia’s current variant listing or a dealer quote to identify the engine and gearbox behind the trim you are considering. A Seltos diesel automatic and an Elevate petrol CVT, for example, are not equivalent choices simply because both are automatics.

An Autocar comparison featured a petrol-CVT Elevate against a diesel-automatic Seltos. Their power, torque and fuel-economy figures describe those particular configurations; they cannot determine which model is better for a shopper choosing a different engine or gearbox. Do not use a single comparison’s output or mileage figures as a verdict on every Seltos and Elevate variant. Similarly, do not compare an advertised mileage number from one fuel and transmission combination with a different combination and treat the result as a model-wide efficiency ranking.

How to make the powertrain comparison useful

  • Write down the fuel and gearbox you actually want before selecting trims. If the Elevate’s petrol-only choice suits you, compare it with the Seltos configuration that best matches your needs and price range.
  • Confirm the exact engine and transmission on the dealer’s quotation, not just the model name or trim badge. The Seltos range includes multiple combinations, and its listed price span does not identify every pairing.
  • When reviewing output or economy figures, keep the engine, transmission and test basis attached to the number. A petrol CVT and diesel automatic answer different ownership needs; their headline figures are not a fair direct contest.
  • Test the transmission you intend to buy. A test drive in a manual will not tell you how the CVT behaves, and a different Seltos powertrain may feel different from the version you have shortlisted.

Space: the available figures do not settle a current-model winner

The available side-by-side dimensions are from an August 2026 comparison, before the New Elevate’s October unveiling. That comparison listed the Seltos at 4,460 mm long and 1,830 mm wide, and the outgoing Elevate at 4,312 mm long and 1,790 mm wide. Because the Elevate measurements are for the pre-update model, they do not establish a current, matched dimensional comparison between the two updated vehicles. Do not present those older Elevate measurements as confirmed New Elevate specifications.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Honda’s current Elevate FAQ lists a 458-litre boot capacity. Treat that as the listed Elevate figure, and confirm it applies to the exact new-model version you are shopping for. A matching current-model Seltos boot figure is not established here, so these figures cannot support a boot-capacity winner. Nor do exterior length and width alone settle passenger comfort: the useful question is how the actual cabin and luggage area work for your occupants and belongings.

How to assess usable space in person

  • Check the current brochures for both vehicles’ length, width, wheelbase and boot capacity; make sure the figures refer to the models and versions being quoted. Avoid using an older Elevate dimension as though it were a post-update measurement.
  • Sit in the rear seat behind a driver’s seat adjusted for the person who will usually drive. Check knee room, headroom and how comfortable the seat feels for your regular passengers.
  • Bring a representative suitcase, stroller or other bulky item. Try loading it into the boot rather than relying only on the stated capacity. The 458-litre Elevate FAQ figure is a useful specification to check, but physical fit matters too.
  • If you routinely carry several passengers, test the rear cabin with the seats occupied. A dimension or litre figure cannot tell you how comfortable the layout will feel for your family.
  • Check whether your usual items can be loaded and removed without an awkward lift or rearrangement. Try more than one bag if that reflects your regular use, and compare the same items in both cars.

Because current, matched measurement data is incomplete, keep the paper comparison modest: the older CarDekho figures indicate that the Seltos was longer and wider than the outgoing Elevate, while the current Honda FAQ gives the Elevate’s boot capacity as 458 litres. Those facts do not add up to a reliable verdict on which updated model has more usable space. Confirm both manufacturers’ current specifications, then let a real rear-seat and luggage test answer the practical question.

Features: what the New Elevate adds and what still needs checking

Honda’s October 6 announcement describes a bolder grille and lighting and a more premium dual-tone cabin for the New Elevate. It also names active ventilation for the front and rear seats, power-adjustable front seats, 360-degree surround vision, an electric parking brake with auto brake hold, front and rear parking sensors, and Honda SENSING with Low-Speed Follow.

Those additions make the New Elevate more than a simple carry-over in presentation and convenience equipment, but the announcement does not provide a complete variant-by-variant equipment matrix. Do not assume every named feature is standard on every Elevate grade, or that each feature is available with every transmission. Check the current brochure or written dealer specification for the specific trim and gearbox combination, especially if a feature is central to your decision.

Honda Vice President – Marketing and Sales Kunal Behl described the launch positioning in the company’s October 1, 2026 pre-launch announcement: “With the new Elevate, we are taking this proposition further by introducing several strongly desired features and enhancements, along with a bolder design and more premium cabin experience.” This is Honda’s description of the update, not an independent assessment of the cabin or a substitute for trying the vehicle.

Kia’s Seltos specification information likewise describes equipment that varies by variant. Its listed features include differences in displays, connectivity, comfort and driver assistance. The overall Seltos range may offer a feature that is absent from the particular trim within your budget; confirm the exact version rather than comparing a top-grade Seltos feature list with an entry Elevate. Kia’s official overall price range, from HTE to X Line (O), spans configurations with different equipment and powertrains.

Make a matched feature checklist

  • Compare the exact version’s seat adjustment and ventilation, camera system, parking sensors and parking-brake features. For the Elevate, verify which grade gets the announced front and rear seat ventilation, 360-degree surround vision, power-adjustable front seats, electric parking brake and auto brake hold.
  • Check which displays and connectivity functions are fitted to the Seltos trim you can afford and whether any feature depends on a particular powertrain or grade.
  • Confirm the named driver-assistance systems and their availability on the specific variant, rather than inferring fitment from a model-wide announcement.
  • Ask the dealer to show the equipment on the vehicle or provide the current variant specification in writing. A brochure can describe a range; your written quote should identify the specific version.
  • Mark each item as standard, unavailable or not yet confirmed on your comparison sheet. This prevents an uncertain feature from being treated as included and exposes where a higher trim is needed.

Feature priorities are personal. If surround vision or parking sensors matter because of your parking conditions, verify those exact items rather than assigning a point to a car simply because its top grade has them. If seat ventilation or a power-adjustable seat matters to the people who will use the vehicle, try it in the specific car on offer. A longer list is not automatically better value if it is attached to a much more expensive version or includes equipment you will not use.

Safety: separate equipment from crash-test evidence

The New Elevate announcement names Honda SENSING with Low-Speed Follow. Kia’s specifications list safety and driver-assistance equipment that varies by trim. These are useful items to compare on the exact cars, but equipment lists do not establish a crash-test rating. Airbags, cameras or driver assistance should not be treated as a substitute for a verified crash-test result; no matched crash-test result for these current versions is established here.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

When choosing a trim, check both passive safety equipment and active assistance features in its current specification. Confirm whether the equipment you want is fitted to the vehicle offered by the dealer, not only shown in a range-wide brochure or on a higher grade. Ask which version and model year a safety claim refers to, and distinguish a feature that helps the driver from evidence of how a vehicle performed in a crash test.

Do not use the presence of a camera or a named assistance system as proof that a car is safer overall. Compare the specific safety specification you can verify, and consult a current, version-matched crash-test result if one is important to your decision. The equipment mentioned in a launch announcement is not itself a rating.

Which one should you buy?

Choose the Elevate if its petrol-only powertrain suits you

The Elevate is the more focused choice if you have settled on a 1.5-litre petrol and want to choose between a manual and CVT. Its reported New Elevate launch prices run from ₹11.80 lakh for the SV MT to ₹16.89 lakh for the ZX CVT. The October update also brings a substantial set of newly announced comfort, parking and driver-assistance features, although you should confirm which grade includes each one.

It may suit your shortlist particularly well if you have a clear preference for the Elevate’s petrol/manual or petrol/CVT configuration and one of the reported trim budgets fits. Still, do not assume that the new features you want are bundled into the least expensive version. Compare the price of the exact Elevate grade that includes your must-haves with a Seltos trim offering the equipment and powertrain you actually want.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Consider the Seltos if you want a wider range to choose from

The Seltos is worth comparing if you want more engine and transmission options or are shopping across a broader budget. Kia’s listed ex-showroom range begins at ₹10,99,900 and reaches ₹21,56,900. Because the range combines substantially different configurations, identify the exact trim and powertrain before deciding whether a Seltos is a suitable match for an Elevate at a given price.

The Seltos’ low and high price endpoints answer only how broadly the range is priced; they do not say which Seltos is the closest alternative to a particular Elevate. Start with your target spend and configuration, then check Kia’s current listing or get a local dealer to identify the relevant variant. If the relevant Seltos is substantially above or below the Elevate you are comparing, acknowledge that gap rather than calling one a better deal based only on its badge or headline price.

Use a like-for-like shortlist

  1. Set your budget. Start with the ex-showroom amount you can spend, then ask each dealer for an on-road quote in your city. Keep the published showroom price separate from registration, insurance and other charges.
  2. Choose a powertrain requirement. Decide whether you want petrol or another fuel option, and whether you will accept a manual, CVT or another transmission offered on the exact Seltos version. The Elevate lineup described for the New model is petrol with manual or CVT.
  3. Find comparable trims. Within the budget and powertrain choices, compare the equipment fitted to the actual variants under consideration—not the full feature range of either model. Check whether the feature list differs with engine or gearbox.
  4. Inspect space and comfort. Sit in both vehicles and test your usual passengers and luggage before settling the comparison on paper figures. Refer to current model-year specifications and do not treat the outgoing Elevate’s dimensions as confirmed for the New Elevate.
  5. Compare complete quotes. Ask for itemised on-road pricing and compare registration, insurance and other charges on the same basis. If financing, compare the same loan amount, term, fees and rate assumptions rather than looking only at a monthly payment.
  6. Verify the exact car. Before paying a booking amount, make sure the written quotation, variant, gearbox, model year and equipment you agreed on match the vehicle being offered.

Optional accessory note: dash cameras

Honda’s September 2023 Elevate launch release listed a DVR among accessories. That is historical evidence only: it does not confirm fitment on the 2026 New Elevate or the compatibility of a particular third-party car dash camera. If you are considering one, verify physical and electrical compatibility for the chosen vehicle, how it will be installed, and whether installation affects any warranty terms. Treat it as an optional ownership accessory, not a reason to choose one SUV over the other.

What to confirm before booking

  • For the Elevate, verify the New Elevate’s current official price sheet and the equipment assigned to each variant. Autocar India’s reported launch prices are useful comparison points, but the dealer’s dated written quote determines the offer available to you.
  • For the Seltos, confirm current local availability, exact engine and transmission, trim equipment and quoted price. Kia’s ₹10,99,900–₹21,56,900 ex-showroom range includes different configurations, not a single comparable specification.
  • Check current dimensions and boot capacities for both models against their current brochures if those numbers affect your decision. Honda’s FAQ lists 458 litres for the Elevate; confirm applicability to the version you are buying and obtain a comparable current Seltos figure.
  • Request city-specific on-road quotes, including registration, insurance and any applicable offer or finance terms. Compare equivalent loan assumptions if you will finance the purchase.
  • Confirm the safety, parking, driver-assistance and comfort equipment fitted to the exact variant, especially if you are relying on the New Elevate’s newly announced features or a higher Seltos trim’s specification.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is cheaper, the Honda Elevate or Kia Seltos?

Kia India lists the All-New Seltos from ₹10,99,900 to ₹21,56,900 ex-showroom. Autocar India reported New Elevate launch prices from ₹11.80 lakh for the SV MT to ₹16.89 lakh for the ZX CVT. These ranges include different trims and powertrains, so compare the exact variants and local on-road quotes rather than treating the endpoints as a direct match.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Does the Honda Elevate have an automatic transmission?

Yes. The New Elevate retains a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and is offered with a six-speed manual or CVT. The reported launch prices list CVT versions for the V, VX and ZX grades; verify current availability and pricing with a Honda dealer.

Which SUV has more space?

The available side-by-side dimensions are not a current matched comparison: CarDekho’s August 2026 figures listed the Seltos as 4,460 mm long and 1,830 mm wide, versus the outgoing Elevate at 4,312 mm long and 1,790 mm wide. Honda’s current Elevate FAQ lists 458 litres of boot capacity, but a matching current Seltos boot figure is not established here. Check current brochures and test rear-seat comfort and luggage fit in person.

What new features does the 2026 Honda Elevate add?

Honda’s October 6, 2026 announcement names a bolder grille and lighting, a dual-tone cabin, front and rear seat ventilation, power-adjustable front seats, 360-degree surround vision, an electric parking brake with auto brake hold, front and rear parking sensors, and Honda SENSING with Low-Speed Follow. The announcement does not give a complete trim-by-trim equipment matrix, so verify availability on the exact version.

Should I compare the Elevate petrol CVT with the Seltos diesel automatic?

Only if those are the exact configurations you are considering, and even then treat their figures as a comparison between those versions—not the whole model ranges. Fuel, engine and transmission affect the comparison. Match powertrain, budget and trim equipment before using output, economy or feature figures to make a choice.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Are the listed prices on-road prices?

No. The cited Elevate launch prices and Kia’s listed range are ex-showroom. Registration, insurance and other costs vary by city. Ask both dealers for itemised on-road quotes for the exact variants, and compare finance terms using the same assumptions.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: The Honda Elevate is a petrol-only choice with manual and CVT options; its reported New Elevate launch prices run from ₹11.80 lakh to ₹16.89 lakh ex-showroom. The Kia Seltos covers a broader price and powertrain range, listed from ₹10,99,900 to ₹21,56,900. Neither range alone names a winner. Match the exact fuel, gearbox, budget and trim, confirm equipment and current specifications, then decide after comparing city-specific on-road quotes and testing the space yourself.
