Honda’s CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition looks like an “all-carbon” superbike, but the carbon fibre is used on selected bodywork—not the frame, engine or entire motorcycle. Honda UK says the special edition was limited to 300 units in Europe, each with a numbered aluminium plaque. That makes it rare by design, but it does not prove that every example is now unavailable.
Which parts of the Fireblade SP Carbon Edition are carbon fibre?
Honda’s 24YM announcement lists six carbon-fibre components: the front mudguard, under cowl, middle cowl, winglets, front shelter and mudguard cover. The edition is based on the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP; “Carbon Edition” refers to those specified parts, not a motorcycle built wholly from carbon fibre. Honda Europe’s 24YM announcement
That distinction matters when interpreting the dramatic finish. The carbon pieces alter the appearance and reduce weight, but Honda’s component list does not describe a carbon-fibre frame or engine.
How rare is the Carbon Edition?
Honda UK states that production is limited to 300 units in Europe and says each bike receives a unique aluminium plaque identifying its allocated number. The UK page supports a European allocation, not a claim that the motorcycle is impossible to buy anywhere in the world today. What does the carbon bodywork change?
Honda says the Carbon Edition is 1 kg lighter, with weight savings of 10–40% per component compared with the corresponding parts. These are Honda’s announced figures for the 24YM edition, not the result of an independent test. The weight reduction is specific to the carbon components; the available announcement does not support attributing changes to the engine, chassis or other equipment.
Is it more powerful than a regular Fireblade SP?
The Carbon Edition is an SP-specification model with carbon-specific bodywork. Honda’s 24YM announcement quotes 160 kW at 14,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 12,000 rpm for the SP, but it does not present those figures as an increase over the regular SP. The special edition’s documented distinctions are the carbon parts, claimed weight saving, numbered plaque and limited allocation—not a stated power upgrade. Honda Europe’s 24YM announcement

What did it cost, and can you still buy one?
Honda Germany’s announcement dated 1 February 2024 listed a suggested retail price of €32,100 plus €590 freight. That was a German-market price for the 2024 announcement, not a current price or a universal European price. The same local announcement quoted 218 PS (160 kW), 200 kg fully fuelled and a possible top speed of 299 km/h; those are Honda Germany’s 2024 figures for its market context. Honda UK provides a dealer and configuration route, but its page does not establish live inventory. For a new or used example, contact Honda dealers in the relevant country and ask about the precise edition and numbered plaque; present-day availability cannot be inferred from the production limit alone.
