Honda announced on July 15, 2024, that it had become Twitch Rivals’ first-ever exclusive automotive partner. Its featured activation, “Chat’s Civic Mods,” invited viewers to customize a 2025 Honda Civic hybrid through Twitch chat polls. The reveal and a planned vehicle giveaway were tied to TwitchCon 2024, which took place September 20–22 in San Diego; those dates have passed, and a current giveaway is not confirmed.
What Honda’s Twitch Rivals partnership involved
Honda described the agreement as a year-round partnership intended to expand its presence in gaming and esports. The “exclusive automotive partner” designation refers to Honda’s role in Twitch Rivals; it does not mean Honda created or owns Twitch Rivals.
Honda framed the deal as an extension of its existing gaming activity and relationship with Twitch. Its past gaming work included relationships involving Forza, Guitar Hero Live and Hearthstone Team Brawl, as well as a relationship with Team Liquid and its Honda Head2Head and Honda DreamLab Twitch channels. Those earlier projects provide context, but they are distinct from the Twitch Rivals partnership.
What was “Chat’s Civic Mods”?
“Chat’s Civic Mods” was a multi-episode interactive segment. Viewers could participate in chat polls to digitally customize a 2025 Civic hybrid sedan. Honda announced that the resulting design would be revealed at TwitchCon 2024 and that the custom-designed car would be given to a Twitch community member during the convention weekend.

The announcement described a planned activation, not an ongoing promotion. The convention dates—September 20–22, 2024—are past, and Honda’s announcement does not establish that entries are currently open or that the campaign remains active.
Which car did Honda feature?
The activation featured the 2025 Honda Civic hybrid. In its July 15, 2024 announcement, Honda said the hybrid would be offered as a sedan and hatchback, with 200 horsepower. Honda described its combined EPA mileage rating as expected to be nearly 50 mpg. That was an anticipated rating in the announcement, not a verified result; Honda also noted that actual mileage varies with driving and maintenance, conditions, and other factors.

Why Honda pursued a Twitch partnership
Honda said the partnership was intended to connect the automaker with gaming and esports audiences. The company’s July 15, 2024 release characterized 70% of Honda’s Twitch community as ages 18–34. That figure is Honda’s description of its own Twitch community, not a statistic about Twitch users generally.
“Honda joining Twitch Rivals as the first-ever and exclusive automotive partner is an important next step in our growing relationship with the gaming community that kicked off more than 10 years ago,” said Megan Amic, Manager, Media Strategy, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
