The rest of the lineup continues with the ES 350, ES 250 AWD, and ES 300h, plus F SPORT Design and F SPORT Handling versions.
Lexus limited the 2025 Black Line Special Edition to 1,000 vehicles across North America. It returned after a four-year absence and adds appearance details and convenience equipment, but it does not turn the 2025 ES into an all-new car. The eighth-generation Lexus ES arrived for the later 2026 model year, so buyers comparing model years should treat 2025 as a refinement and special-edition year.
What is new on the 2025 Lexus ES?
The key change is the Black Line Special Edition package. It is exclusive to the ES 350 F SPORT Handling and adds $1,500 to the vehicle’s price. Production is limited to 1,000 units across North America, making it considerably rarer than a normal appearance package.

Black Line equipment includes:
- Black exterior mirrors
- Black rear lip spoiler
- Black lower rocker-panel treatment
- F SPORT puddle lamps
- Door switch plates
- Availability of the Mark Levinson Premium Audio System
The package also includes or requires several higher-level technology and convenience features, including Lexus Interface with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a Head-Up Display, a Panoramic View Monitor, and a SmartAccess Card Key. Those items should not be confused with equipment that is standard on every 2025 ES.
Interior choices remain White, Circuit Red, and Black NuLuxe. Exterior colors include Iridium, Cloudburst Gray, Obsidian, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, and Ultra White. Certain paint colors cost extra. Because the package is tied to the ES 350 F SPORT Handling rather than offered across the entire range, shoppers interested in the Black Line should confirm inventory and the vehicle’s window sticker.
2025 Lexus ES powertrains: three different priorities
The 2025 ES continues to offer three main powertrain configurations. The choice is less about finding a single “best” ES and more about deciding whether performance, all-weather traction, or fuel economy matters most.
ES 350: the V6 option
The ES 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 producing 302 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. It sends power through an eight-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission.
Lexus lists EPA-estimated fuel economy of 22 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined for the ES 350. These are manufacturer-published EPA estimates, not independent real-world test results.
ES 250 AWD: the all-wheel-drive choice
The ES 250 AWD uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and Dynamic Torque Control all-wheel drive. Lexus says the system can direct up to 50 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels when starting or when front-wheel slip is detected.

The ES 250 AWD is therefore the version to consider if available all-wheel drive is more important than the ES 350’s V6 output. Lexus’ published specifications should be checked for the exact fuel-economy rating of the selected configuration before purchase.
ES 300h: the efficiency-focused hybrid
The ES 300h combines a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with a hybrid system for 215 total system horsepower. Its lithium-ion battery is located beneath the rear seat, which helps preserve trunk space and contributes to the car’s weight distribution.

Trims and F SPORT equipment
F SPORT Design is available with all three powertrain configurations: the ES 350, ES 250 AWD, and ES 300h. It provides a sportier visual treatment without requiring the buyer to choose the most performance-oriented F SPORT Handling setup.
F SPORT Handling is available on the ES 350 and ES 300h. Its equipment includes:
- Sport+ and Custom drive modes
- Intuitive Parking Assist
- Sport-tuned Adaptive Variable Suspension
- Heated F SPORT steering wheel
- Hadori aluminum interior trim
- Aluminum pedals
- Black headliner
The Black Line Special Edition sits on top of the ES 350 F SPORT Handling combination. It is not a separate powertrain or a replacement for the regular F SPORT versions.

Interior technology and connectivity
The 2025 ES uses Lexus Interface, with an eight-inch touchscreen standard and an available 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard, and the cabin has six USB ports.
Several desirable features remain configuration-dependent rather than universal. Depending on grade and options, the ES can be equipped with:

- Head-Up Display
- SmartAccess Card Key
- Mark Levinson 17-speaker, 1,800-watt PurePlay Surround Sound system
- Panoramic roof
- Triple-beam LED headlamps

The Mark Levinson system is available only with certain grades and configurations. The same is true of the larger display, Head-Up Display, panoramic roof, and other premium convenience features, so a listing that says “2025 Lexus ES” does not by itself establish that every item is included.
Connected services: check the terms
Lexus lists Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant, Remote Connect, Safety Connect, and Service Connect among the ES’ connected features. These services are different from the vehicle’s standard touchscreen and wireless smartphone integration.

Availability can depend on a trial period, a subscription, compatible services, and 4G or other network availability. Buyers should check the current Lexus terms for the specific vehicle and region rather than assuming that connected features remain permanently free or will work everywhere.

These systems are driver-assistance features, not autonomous driving. Lexus describes them as designed to operate under particular speed, road, visibility, traffic, and system conditions. The driver remains responsible for steering, braking, monitoring the road, and responding when a system reaches its limits. Equipment such as the Panoramic View Monitor and Intuitive Parking Assist is not necessarily standard on every ES grade.
2025 Lexus ES pricing
Lexus announced a starting MSRP of $43,190 for the 2025 ES, including the $1,150 Delivery, Processing and Handling fee. The Black Line Special Edition package adds $1,500 to the applicable ES 350 F SPORT Handling model.

That starting figure does not mean every ES will cost $43,190. Trim selection, powertrain, F SPORT equipment, paint, options, destination-related charges, taxes, registration, dealer fees, and regional pricing can change the final amount. Some exterior colors carry an extra charge, and the Black Line package includes associated equipment that affects the vehicle’s configuration.
Before signing, compare the window sticker and the current Lexus pricing information for the exact vehicle. Dealer inventory and pricing can change after the model-year announcement.

Accessories do not represent changes to the 2025 model year, but they can be practical ownership purchases. Owners who want to protect the ES’ carpeting may want to compare 2025 Lexus ES all-weather floor liners. Check the listing’s trim and model-year fitment before ordering.
A vehicle-specific trunk liner is another reasonable option for owners who regularly carry groceries, sports equipment, pets, or messy cargo.
