Harley-Davidson expects to begin bringing its new entry-level motorcycle, called the Sprint, to market in the second half of 2026. That is a company target—not a confirmed on-sale date. Reuters has reported a 440cc engine and an expected price of about $6,000, but Harley-Davidson has not published a final Sprint spec sheet or MSRP in the cited announcements.
When is the Harley-Davidson Sprint coming out?
Harley-Davidson’s May 5, 2026 strategy update set the expected start of the Sprint’s market introduction for the back half of 2026. The announcement gives a broad target window, not a specific launch day, dealer delivery date, or guarantee that every market will get the motorcycle at the same time. Harley-Davidson’s strategy announcement is the primary source for that timing.
That is more specific than the company’s earlier disclosures. Harley-Davidson’s 2025 annual report and proxy statement referred to a small-displacement motorcycle and an entry-level offering for select markets, respectively. Its first-quarter 2025 materials said the planned product introduction would begin the following year. Those statements established a product direction and broad timing, but did not name the motorcycle or announce a retail date. The 2026 strategy update identifies the planned model as the Sprint.
What is known about the Sprint’s price and engine?
Reuters reported that CEO Artie Starrs described the Sprint as a 440cc model with an expected price point of approximately $6,000. The figures are reported CEO positioning, not a complete official specification or confirmed manufacturer’s suggested retail price. Harley-Davidson has not established a final MSRP in the cited materials.

- Canvas upper
- Canvas lining
- Rubber outsole
- Vulcanized construction
- Displacement: 440cc, as reported by Reuters from Starrs’s description; not yet a final published specification sheet.
- Price: approximately $6,000, as reported by Reuters; an expected price point, not confirmed MSRP.
- Positioning: Starrs described size, maneuverability, features, and benefits as more aligned with some younger riders, according to Reuters.
Harley-Davidson’s later 2026 announcements covered other models, including the Super Glide and Deadwood, but do not establish a Sprint-specific final spec sheet, exact retail date, or dealer availability. Until the company publishes those details, comparisons based on weight, seat height, power, torque, equipment, warranty, or confirmed price would be premature.
Will the Sprint be sold in the United States?
The earlier company documents discussed an entry-level motorcycle offering in select markets, but the cited announcements do not provide a complete market-by-market rollout or confirm U.S. availability. The second-half-2026 target should not be read as proof that the Sprint will reach U.S. dealerships then—or that every announced market will receive it simultaneously. Check Harley-Davidson’s official model announcements for geography and dealer timing as they are published.

What prospective buyers should watch for
For a meaningful buying decision, wait for Harley-Davidson to publish the market-specific listing and compare confirmed figures rather than treating the reported estimates as settled. Useful details to verify include:
- Official U.S. or other market MSRP, including any destination charge or fees.
- Final engine displacement and published power and torque figures.
- Wet or curb weight, seat height, safety equipment, and warranty.
- Order or retail dates and whether local dealers can confirm availability.
The company’s May strategy announcement also set a target of more than $350 million in HDMC EBITDA in 2027. That is a business target, not a realized result or a measure of the Sprint’s sales, price, or availability.
