Genesis says it demonstrated the vehicle in the Rub’ al Khali desert, but its published figures and capability descriptions are concept specifications—not independent test results.
What is the Genesis X Skorpio?
The X Skorpio is Genesis’s first extreme off-road vehicle concept, designed, the company says, for demanding terrain such as deserts. Its name and design draw on the black scorpion native to the UAE. Genesis describes its segmented, armor-like panels and sculpted curves as expressions of that inspiration; the exterior is finished in black with a blue tint.
At the Liwa Oasis debut, Genesis also presented the GV60 Outdoors Concept, GV70 Outdoors Concept and GV80 Desert Edition. The announcement does not provide enough equivalent specifications to rank those vehicles against the X Skorpio.
How much horsepower does the X Skorpio have?
Genesis specifies a V8 producing 1,115 PS, equivalent to 1,100 horsepower, and 117.6 kilogram-force meters of torque, equivalent to 850 pound-feet. The U.S. concept page presents the figures as “1,100 horsepower” and “850 torque.” These are manufacturer-stated concept specifications.

What hardware is intended for desert driving?
Wheels, tires and suspension
The concept pairs 18-inch beadlock wheels with custom 40-inch off-road tires. Genesis also describes an off-road racing suspension with extreme ground clearance. The company has not published independent measurements of its ground clearance or test results showing how the vehicle performs on a particular route.
Frame and protection
Genesis lists a tubular frame, full integrated roll cage, reinforced structural components, skid plates and high-clearance fenders. It also specifies four-point harnesses and Brembo Motorsport brakes. The release describes a mix of fiberglass, carbon fiber and Kevlar in the vehicle’s construction. These details describe the concept as presented by Genesis, not independently assessed durability or safety performance.

How is the cabin set up for a driver and co-pilot?
The instrument cluster is integrated into the steering wheel. A sliding display can sit centrally for the driver or move toward the passenger, whom Genesis positions as a co-pilot for navigation. The company also lists ergonomic seating, climate control, safety grab handles and advanced communication systems. Suede and leather, laser-cut gradient patterns and stitching inspired by scorpion legs carry the exterior motif into the cabin.
Is the Genesis X Skorpio for sale?
No. Genesis USA labels the displayed vehicle “Concept vehicle shown. Not for sale.” The company has not announced it as a retail product, and no production price or sales schedule is stated on the official pages.

What Genesis says the concept represents
Genesis frames the X Skorpio as part of its concept-car strategy, which it says expresses the brand through the emotional facets of Luxury, Sport and Cool. Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke described it as “an extreme off-road vehicle designed to be driven across the toughest and harshest terrain.” That is the company’s positioning, rather than a claim established by published independent testing.
